i really like to know how long it takes in the current alpha to play through the content, but i appreciate that they said that the time was 90 min in a previous built => only a few devs would give us such an information!

Only half a year? I'm assuming you're only 12 years old and I guess that is a long for you but good games take years.

During the build that had "90 minutes of content", we had testers that were happy to play for 100+ hours.

The areas, items and monsters are randomly generated. The time quoted was merely the length of time it took to run through the first difficulty level at the time.

The alpha at the moment contains all of Act 1. It takes around two hours to complete this act if you ignore side areas and know what you're doing.

We started a new league on the alpha realm last week. Despite it only taking a few hours to complete the first difficulty level, people are happily playing fulltime still. The subsequent difficulty levels are substantially harder and take quite a long time to play through. It takes even longer to find great items.

When we release the game, there will be three acts and at least three difficulty levels. I expect that players will be able to play for months on just their first few characters. We'll be releasing content expansions often, and of course opening new leagues with interesting rules.

My point is just that although we might say "It takes two hours to finish Act 1", you need not be worried about the replayability of the game.

With regard to that 2 hour number Chris just gave I'd like to mention a couple of things.

Firstly, I'd like to re-enforce that that it could only be that fast for someone who has played before and knows what they are doing. I'm pretty sure it takes me longer than that.

The second point is that none of the side quests are in the alpha build yet. Our side quests generally give you permanent bonuses to your character (such an an extra passive skill point for example) so you are going to want to do them.

Wow, thank you for that information! Really appreciate it.
I think that two hours for one act without side quests is not so bad as it may sound. You can play the first act in d2 in the same time or even faster if you know what you're doing. And i think that the most important point in an arpg is item hunting and leveling so there will be more than enough to do. So i have no doubt that you can have hours of fun with the content which is in already. Nevertheless more acts are always better :)

The first act is ready, but do it mean for the closed beta that there will be at first only the first act or will the closed beta released with all 3 acts? i ask that because we can figure out if the beta begins soon or not until 31 march or later :)
