Xendran makes a good point about leaking and optimization, poorly optimized rendering is obviously going to tax your system more. I can also say without a doubt that simply using GPU memory raises the temperature, if there are allocation issues with GPU VRAM it will likely have an effect on temperature.

I run at those exact same settings and never go over 50C
I'm not saying there isn't a memory leak. I am saying I would recommend a custom fan profile. You're hurting your own hardware by not having one. | |

I haven't read through all the replies so I don't know if any other posters mentioned it, but the best server to play on for Aussies is the Singapore server (which they actually added for us just recently). Hope this helps!

This might be a dumb question, but I don't see it mentioned recently. You do have vsync turned on correct? Without a frame limiter, and no vsync PoE can heat up a GPU like crazy. I've played for hours on end, and my GPU never goes above 60c (6970). Even on my laptops with modest GPUs I don't have temp issues ( 7950GTX / 5470 ).

Love this game, but the fps lag on parties is extreme !
Game gets ZERO on performance! i run a 580gtx 8gb ram latest i7. crysis 1 run on extreme res with mods and what not,very very smooth.
