Communication and the Sacred Orb

so we are at 48 pages in less than 48hrs (?). the VAST majority of which is "Don't make this change". What's the bet this still makes it in the game and has a negative effect and we see Chris trying to justify it in a podcast in a couple of weeks when player numbers are down again and they are in damage control yet again?

The real issue i have with this game is that they never seem to learn from their mistakes in the past. this is a great example of that.

+1 Damn
where is the fun by introducing the Sacred Orb?

If it's going to be that rare, it should just set the armor to the max value. Or better yet, set it to max + 5%.

You must be living in different universe then i am, because where i live GGG has the best communication line with players out of any other game i have ever played. While current change is imho horrible one, this is an exception to the rule not another example.

As long as they actually act on this feedback now it will be prefect example how to ask and act on feedback from playerbase.

The 110+ pages of Harvest Manifesto will tell you how GGG will do what they want even if players give better solutions...

GGG has their vision for the game, we, as players only see the short term of it. Sometime, some changes don't make sense until 2 updates after when they introduce new things...

I'm sure a good part of the 3.15 nerf fiasco would angry more people if they had postponed those nerfs to PoE 2.

I guess I don't care about base defenses or these orbs ... however just know that "3x more rare than exalts" means nothing, literally nothing, to people that farm hundreds of exalts anyhow. So in that, they'll get plenty of sacred orbs, thus making them even more rich. The top end players are basically being given an "easy" button for making perfect items.

Not sure why GGG doesn't get this.

Without the orbs ... we ALL got a chance to find the perfect base and sell it to the upper 0.1%.

But again, I guess I don't care.

Speak for yourself. I've been playing for 8 years, if there's a plan it sure looks a lot like the absence of one.

The fact that they have to roll back their own changes in the space of a league or two proves there's no substantive longterm thought going on. This argument was brought up and put down many times with regard to harvest.

And that was merely the most egregious visible example. It's almost a trope at this point to have essentially half leagues.

Week 1, all the 0.1%ers are lvl 100.
Week 2, GGG patches out whatever they found ways to break.
Week 3 onward, hemorrhaging active players, the rich get richer.
Week 4, the long march to announced announcements.

It's a business. They just try stuff take risks, see how it pans out, repeat. Like any other.

This "vision" stuff is just ad-copy. Might as well be a "mission statement."

I'm speaking for myself, always.
But your reply says : "i'm thinking short term"

I've also been playing that same game as you for 9 years now, even if my playstyle is probably at the oopposite spectrum of yours.
I don't care anymore for the 0.1%, they find breaking bugs that are fixed, good. Leagues have always been for that, since day 1.
I don't trade, never did, never will, and i don't care whom gets rich (if it is only makes sense in a video game...)

All i care is how the game feels when i play it and in 3.15 it felt good but i had no time to play it. I'm looking forward for 3.16 and 3.17. Maybe it will be very bad, but i doubt it.
