The reason we are in this mess is because of these streamers. Sure GGG fucked up too, because they catered to these guys' opinions. When they noticed they fucked up, too late, you gonna piss off your whales.
The whole debate degenerated into "It's either my way or the highway", and neither group wants to compromise. It's either zoom zoom 2 billion DPS, or "Chris's vision", no middle ground. No matter what arguments and "logical" conclusions are drawn, in the end these streamers want the zoom zoom speed" back, they won't openly admit it though Well, I do enjoy the game as it is now, so I'll play it until I get bored for good, or until it dies. P.S Yes, I do have an open dislike for streamers. They act like they care about the game and the community, yet they only care for their e-peen competitions. |

" I can't put the full weight of the mess on streamers, but I do agree they had a huge hand in the speed of the game now. I've watched so many streamer PoE "tutorial" videos for beginners where the instruction is to boil it down to maps per hour. Don't look at loot, just scoop it, port out and toss it in a dump tab (quad tabs would be upsold at this point). Rinse and repeat. Then spend time later viewing what is in the dump tabs. This is how they said they get all the good stuff. It's just a matter of killing more monsters. That was the path laid out for thousands of beginners. |

We're here because 1) They couldn't or didn't restrain themselves in terms of power creep. 5-15% per league and we wouldn't be here right now, even with compounding gains. 2) They make every league core. 50% power creep from shaper/elder items or 200% power creep (full ascendancy on a pair of boots lol) from Harvest would be fine for 3 months if they'd sunset that shit and let it go to the Standard mode sandbox once it has run its course. |

yep, this stuff.

Watched an entire 20 minute video, glad I did. That's a high standard for me and videos.
Chris said encouraging things in the Baeclast, he gave me hope when I was betting on abandoning until PoE 2.0. Repeating myself: Put up or shut up. You screwed up in multiple ways and admit it, good. Now fix it. Hint: If you can't find a great fix for a mistake, flat-out revert it. Mana is the best example. It crushes and outright destroys categories of builds. Make a lot of changes so it feels good again, or revert it completely. And waiting on it all until 3.16 is an incredibly bad idea. You still have 10's of thousands of beta testers (for the moment), buff to counter-act nerfs or revert them. In the next week. Please don't destroy my favorite game. I miss it right now. |

"No, they actually took fun away. A ton of longtime players and supporters (open beta here) are upset and very worried. They didn't nerf a few overpowered builds, they nerfed everything hard. Overpowered or marginal ones. And the dps nerfs aren't even top two concerns. Cast on Crit wasn't an overpowered or broken mechanic, it was added very early and has been buffed and nerfed many times. Now it needs a ton of mana. Build diversity has plummeted. And now freeze, bleed, and curses are absurd to deal with. Anyway, what are you finding success with this lea...oh, account completely private. I'm sure you have a reason I won't laugh at, really I am. Numbers don't lie. 23% less at launch, which was actually ok? From that 23% less, most leagues gain slightly Sat and Sun, and lose very little by second weekend. This time it plummeted Saturday, and continued down steadily. 30% less revenue from last league (From Chris Wilson himself), if that isn't corrected in a league or two you get layoffs and cutbacks on PoE 2.0 development. They really, really screwed up. And their core, longterm supporters/players are complaining and quitting. Watch the video, it is very well explained. |
