But here's the thing. I have ailment immunity, 5500 ES, high evasion, medium armour atm, high resists, 50% or so phys damage reduction (it will get higher), etc. so a typical solid aurabot, before min-maxxing.

But I am dying instantly on most T15-T16 maps, and most T15+ conqs, when before, in the same situation, I would survive.

And what is SUPER frustrating is, I don't even know why. When I die, my carry dies too and neither of us have any idea.

Earlier in the league, it was clearly shock that was causing damage spikes, but I have shock immunity now, but something is tearing through my defences.

And this is why I agree 110% with the OP, because the combination of changes in this league have made it so unenjoyable, so frustrating. I can't think of ways to surmount these problems, until I can get 3 point voices, and that isn't happening any day soon, because we are struggling to get chase items at all, and the currency-fest of the last few leagues is also over. (I've played many hours every day since league start, and I've had no exalts drop, and my main carry has had 1).

So, I too feel sad, because this was once a great game, but now has lost its way.

Damage spikes are real. I have experienced it and now that I am at my 3rd character, I know that it is not me, it is the game.

Already skipped last league, skipped league start on this one, gave it a shot a few days in, leveled to 90 and quit. This is not my game anymore. After 17 40/40 it really hurts, but if they want that cut, they get it.

MrsDeath have you on my flist for a long time now and we interacted a few times for crafts and challenges. Will miss it.
