Except if you drink potion before totem death, you won't get curse at all. And the wearer of this robe most likely will have full set of curse immunity potions.
Also, if your totem dies because of duration, there, most likely, isn't any threat around.
So the only thing that prevents it becoming truly "free buff" is a desync, which IMO isn't the best way to balance an item.
At least it won't be played as typical "spam totems - spam even more totems" build.

No. I'm still hoping for mine to drop so I can give it a try.

We don't even have any right to demand the unique be a certain way, though GGG goes to great lengths to accommodate our ideas - even to the point of adding new game features or base items.

I found the process quite fun and definitely recommend it to anyone thinking about supporting via the item design shop option.
