Don't abandon us. don't turn your backs on the ones loving poe.
Just ascending using the lab doesn't bother me aside for the rng in finding all the trials while mapping, the really annoying part though is having to make countless lab runs after that to get a helmet enchant that you actually want.
People only hate lab 'cause they can't do it without deaths...

There will be an alternate way to get ascendancy points or perhaps more likely a new way to get alternate ascendancy points. They haven't been completely clear on that as far as I know. Perhaps it hasn't been decided yet?

As someone who just spams staunching pots and runs through traps this seems wrong.
Hate the lab. It gates a reward that has become a necessary part of progress... but you have to get to the point where you don't need the reward in order to get it. Rewards like ascendancy points should never be gated behind the big boss.
My main issues with lab are:

1. RNG issue of trials. So much fun finding the same 5 trials time and time again and not finding the last one.

2. POE has a major visibility problem. Dark traps in dark dungeons with unclear pathways obscured by particle effects plus of course the limited viewing range so you can't see what you're running into. Terrible design.
The only good thing about the lab is Izaro, love the quotes and the voice work is phenomenal.

Other than that is a chore. I don't mind (much) doing the acts for each new char, but the labs are just way too boring. I also don't understand why uber lab is locked behind a random chance to get the trials in the atlas.

I know some people have theories about endless delve being a test for a possible option to level a char if you already finished the acts once in a league. I hope they're right and the lab is part of it. Maybe not an insta ascend, but something like 1 fight with Izaro at levels 33, 55, 68 and 75. Just like acts, as long as you did the labs once in a league it should be an option.

I hate it for its design, some people love it, some people hate it, and that wouldn't be a problem if they didn't force everyone to do it.
