Friend Account got banned

My friend asked me to write this here becouse he cant access forum himself.
He got banned few days days ago. There was no reason included but i think it was because of his mouse macro. We have goten into currency flipping and he was tiered of clicking his left mouse button from all the trades. He came up with an idea to use a macro on his mouse, wich clicks automatically when he holds his left mouse button. Maby the macro was a bit to fast... and he was mistaken for a bot? The other software he was using were trade macro and mercury trade wich are definitely legal as far as i know. My dear friend is missing out on this amazing league start ;( Is there any chance he will be unbanned? Or is the use of mouse clicking macros illegal and he lost his account for good? Me and my friend would be ethernaly greatfull if someone would look into this and help him unlock his account.

Your friend will have to email support@grindinggear.com from the email address associated with his banned account.

However, the mouse macro that you describe him as using would most likely be seen as automation and thus bannable.

I do not and will not use TFT.

Have him email support to get an appeal started, but that is currently taking around 14 days before a final decision is reached. As xjjanie suggested, that mouse macro is definitely bannable. Macros can (1) do exactly 1 server side action per button press and (2) must perform the exact same action every time. His macro performs a repeated action, and when GGG looks into the logs they will be able to tell the time interval is exactly the same between actions.

By all means he should start an appeal, but by your explanation I doubt he’ll be getting his account back. He should have received notice as to which section of the ToS he violated, which is probably section 7:
Spoiler
Restrictions: Under no circumstances, without the prior written approval of Grinding Gear Games, may you:

Adapt, reproduce, store, distribute, print, display, publish or create derivative works from any part of the Website, Materials or Services other than in accordance with the Licence.

Modify or adapt (including through third parties and third-party tools) the game client or its data, other than in the normal course of PoE gameplay as permitted in accordance with the Licence.

Utilise any automated software or ‘bots’ in relation to your access or use of the Website, Materials or Services.

Knowingly perform any actions that may cause the computers used to support the Website, Materials and Services (the “Servers”) to become overloaded or crash.

Connect to the Servers through any software other than the authorised game client software.

Use any data gathering and extraction tools or software to extract information from the Website or utilize framing techniques to enclose any of the contents of the Website.

Use any meta tags or other hidden text which incorporate Grinding Gear Games’ name or any of its intellectual property including trade marks.

Perform in-game services during your use of the Website, Materials or Services for any form of compensation outside of PoE.
How specific will the emails be, if their final verdict is still a ban?

Still waiting on my case, and I genuinely have no idea why an Act 1 account got banned.
Their final email will either say after a review your account has been restored or after a review we determined you did violate section x of the ToS. Once you get the final verdict they will consider the case settled and ignore all further inquiries.

With your appeal email you want to submit as much clarifying information as possible as this is usually your one chance to present your case. I can’t necessarily say this will help, but if you did something that is a violation, I would admit to it, apologize, say that you didn’t realize such and such was a violation but now do, and promise to not perform said action in the future.

Also note that multiple emails only delay the final decision because your place in queue is based off the last time they heard from you.
I do hope I sent enough info. I'd rather not restart my already 4 day wait. Thank you!

He broke ToS (using macro's) and got banned. So yeah he can appeal the ban but this is a pretty clear case.
Okay, let me get this straight. I am deadfliers friend who got baned recently. Honestly i am shocked by replies i am getting here. Maybe you guys are living in a bubble, but this is not okay to ban people for not obvious reason. Unlike you guys, i don't spend my whole time, finding out what is allowed and what is not. This game is made to entertain us and i don't have to get master degree in "forumologie" to know what is allowed and what not. Rules should be straight forward and visible (NO CHEATS, RMT, etc) Every streamer i watched are using third party software, so i assumed this is allowed. I was using Mercury trade and macro FUCKING BUILD-IN in my mouse (ctrl + leftclick on a single button) Thats all. Why everybody are using trade software and etc? I can tell you - this game has handycaped mechanics when it is about trading. So people are forced to download "THIRD PARTY SOFTWARE" if they are valuing their time. Honestly i apologized in email to support, but now i regret i did it.
If GGG don't want to have addons used in this game, they should forbid all of them, so EVERYONE understands what is allowed and what not.

Feel free to be shocked. You should read the ToS you agreed to when you created your account more carefully.
You used a MACRO witch is not allowed and you got banned for it. So that's that.

So now you appeal the ban and properly within the next 14+ days, you will be told if you get a second chance or not.
If you feel there are any speciel information that you want GGG to take into account, then you should put those in a e-mail and send them to GGG support.
Clearly state that this is information for the appeal of your BAN that you want GGG to take into account before the "rule" over your appeal.
