TLDR

If you're not gushing with worship then one of 2 things will happen,

- If you state an opinion idiots will scream "We WantZ FaCtZ"
- If you post facts idiots will scream "U CaRE 2 MuCH trYHARd JusT a GaME brUH and iTTS FrEEEEEEEE"

Don't bother with the GGG d*** suckers, they're everywhere. I believe more than half of them are trolls anyway looking to make people angry.

That happens here and literally nowhere else. It's not a real argument for anything, it's just a way to say "I have no argument but I like this game so stfu with your criticism".
GGG is well on his way of making people really sick and tired of this game and their attitude.. No sense in even trying to talk to them as they have such a thick plate of concrete in front of their head they'll stimply ignore it or else...

Just reading some discussion about people getting banned after 8 years of doing nothing and not being clear about what is what is not.. Simply saying "we do not have any further information".. Yeah that works.

Customers are king.. They put food on the table. At least treat them with some respect please.

Shame.. take people's money but treat them like crap.

Reddit is Groupthink Central. [Removed by Support] And in that respect, it's even worse than Twitter. But at least on Twitter, some people are capable of thinking for themselves. Take whatever you see on Reddit with a pinch of salt & laugh at it -- the vast majority of Redditers are not to be taken seriously.

So I made a post talking about how GGG ironically tried to slow down some zoom zoom builds but ended up creating another one through Herald Stacking. It was entirely opinion based, Never meant to trash talk about anyone at GGG or even devalue the fun experience of playing POE. But for whatever reason I was bombarded with people trashing me on simply sharing a viewpoint of the game. I still enjoy the game no matter where the game goes. Apparently, as soon as you mention some of the trigger words like "Chris", "Herald Stacking", "nerfs", etc. You will 100% get ganged by the community for simply sharing an opinion.

TLDR; Don't post an opinion on Reddit expecting to have a decent conversation with anyone there. Apparently, the community views sharing an honest opinion as a raging child complaining about the game and gangs on you with toxicity.

I don't know how it is like to share opinions on POE's forum site but after that experience I wouldn't be surprised to find it happen here.

Real kicker is: You get a post flood timer of 10 minutes~ because you had the wrong opinion! Reason #29182 why reddit is cancer

Except on reddit, the user will experience:

Seeing "-xxx points" / negative karma

Post rate limitation (10 minutes)

Posts will eventually need to be approved by a moderator on certain subs (can take a few hours to a day). Sometimes never, because they view the user as a "troll". Also, the relevancy of the discussion slowly decays with that elapsed time.

Regular forums (with good objective moderators) will always be superior in my eyes

Made a opinion post on the POE's subreddit

Thing about opinions....opinions are like arseholes, everyone has one...just, almost no one wants one shoved in their face.

I bet the OP's reddit post was a low quality complainer post and he got dunked on for it.

Why am I guessing this? Because his first instinct after getting bashed on reddit was to come to this forum to complain about it.

You make a quality critical post on the PoE subreddit and you'll get get plenty of positive reactions. It just has to be about something that isn't brought up daily (Herald Stacking is problematic, we all know) and has something meaningful to say.

Lol, if that opinion is part of the hivemind's view, then yes.

yeah, that pretty much reddit in general, not just poes sub. subreddits are known as hiveminds and echo chambres sadly, thats why regular old school type forums such as this one will always be superior when it comes to having discussions than reddit simply because there is no voting system here.

how are you expecting to have a normal and non-biased discussion when a legit feedback comment on a subreddit thread gets 7 upvotes maybe and a meme comment adding nothing significant to the thread gets 328 upvotes and always shows at the top of the thread? or someone posts their personal view which doesnt fit the narrative and the comment gets burried at the bottom of the thread with negative rating.

if nothing else, I am at least somewhat glad that people are kind of waking up on the subreddit and mentioning the games awful optimization on the daily bases. for 9 years now I have been pointing out poes awful performance and lack of optimization just to get people with 2000€ rigs to tell me how their game runs smoothly, but now theyre realizing I was right this whole time when their meta SLI and last gen intel cpu isnt buttering the performance like it should. it was funny reading the shocked reactions to poe having a memory leak as if its a new occurance that never ever happened befeore. as recent as 2 years, whenever I mentioned the bad performance I'd get swarmed with downvotes from intellectuals who think that dynamic resolution was a good optimization measure.

if nothing else the tables have turned now with more and more people realizing the flawed performance, so there might be some hope for the subreddit.

Look, just a heads up; I know you're changing the color of your post to "stand out" from the crowd, and add some kind of personal touch to your posts. I just wanted to say that for me, your chosen color makes your post way harder to read than the default color.

Just some personal feedback to you.
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.
