Made a opinion post on the POE's subreddit. Big Mistake.

PoE forums are often just as bad, but without the down/upvoting.

Nah I dont think so, for me the forum is much better.

For example shortly before 3.9 I made a thread in the general discussion forum and reddit about the new Fortify less instead of reduced effect actually buffing increased damage taken builds like Bererker or Abyssus a little.

On general discussion forum there was quite a comfy talk in there. On Reddit it was just downvoted so much that I had to delete it. lol.
Hence the "often just as bad" rather than "always just as bad" or simply "are just as bad".
I have a pretty good sense of humor. I'm not German.
Reddit is a shitty echo chamber by design, as that is what psychology shows keeps the most people engrossed for the longest. Don't bother posting anything there aside from shitty recycled memes during their allotted window of acceptability.

That being said, I disagree that more damage from monsters is the way to slow PoE down. If GGG actually wants to slow the game again and make it less of an arcade-like bullet hell looter, they need to simultaneously massively lower the power levels across the board again, and also make it so players are pushed less towards only playing the meta pre-built interactions they keep pumping out (archmage, aura stacking, impale, etc. Gets more OP every time, its d3 RoS powercreep all over again.) When I started playing, people played a much larger variety of builds because there was room to do so. In buffing the high end of build power level, while also making the game more rewarding and more dangerous, the pros of playing lower tiers of builds for fun became far more outweighed by the need of playing a stronger build, and then the cycle repeats, till only the intended strong builds are played, and the game suffers.
There's no powercreep here. Creep implies it's slow and could be overlooked, this is a full out sprint.

What did you expect - reddit is most ardent congregation of ggg fanboys and 70% of league is stacking heralds (50% guardians, rest are scions/deadeyes etc).
reddit was created by the borg (hint hint).

what worries me, chris hasn't posted there for over a month and i'm seriously concerned if he's ok.

Some defend GGG on all fronts, while some people disagree with you, and get wrongfully put in a box as a "whiteknight", defending GGG on all fronts. It goes both ways. That said, Reddit is a cesspool of mob mentality.

Anyhow, on topic: GGG can talk as much as they want about "slowing down the game". As long as they keep introducing timed mechanics, it's all talk, and no walk.

The only thing forcing people to rush is greed, it very easy to reach 4/2 without rushing or backtracking. But no greed makes you feel like you missed out, so you rush and backtrack rather then doing 1.5 4/2 maps instead without backtrack.

I think "greed" is the wrong word here.

If "I want to do the most out of my time playing" translate to "greed" in your vocabulary, then fine. "Not settling for mediocre" is not "greed".

Anyhow, you can't say that timed mechanics and visual graphics on the screen tracking/stacking your rewards based on your clear is actively "slowing down the game", because you would be bullshiting.
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

It’s the internet and Reddit can be toxic

Welcome OP to the forum. Thanks for sharing your story.

I'm not familiar with Reddit. Is this post something that would be down voted or up voted? I'm guessing probably just ignored?
Over 430 threads discussing labyrinth problems with over 1040 posters in support (thread # 1702621) Thank you all! GGG will implement a different method for ascension in PoE2. Retired!
Oh look, some people think your opinion is worthless. What a tragedy.
Reddit is cancer anyways
