BUILD OUT OF COMMISSION....NO LONGER VIABLE DUE TO IDIOTIC CHANGE TO IRON REFLEXES

will probably hit close to 2k LA.

SPECIAL NOTES:
In order to run those 3 auras without eating away to much at your life (since your using the blood magic passive) you will need to 4 link an armor piece with 1 Green 1 Blue and 2 Reds. This will allow you to keep all 3 auras to 1 reduced mana on 1 armor piece making it efficient. Level 20 auras on all 3 gems should max out around 360 reserved life, which can be further reduced on a level 20 QUALITY reduced mana.

Just a nitpick but quality reduced mana will not reduce the amount of mana reserved as each quality reduces 0.5% mana cost
Hi there.

With the recent duelist changes, I think Duelist have a better/more punchy start for a bow user than Ranger. However, over the long term - if you're aiming at a mid 80s or 90 level character - I would still start with Ranger.

The basic reason is that, if you start with Duelist, you will practically never get access to (or never be able to justify) the Ranger's 8% IAS starting node or Perfect Aim. However, if you start with a Ranger, you will get access to (or be able to jutify access to) all the juicy Duelist starting nodes *and* the Ranger specialist nodes identified above.

This is my version of the final build I try to make:

From this point I will be able to take any resist I think is lacking. (By the +15% groups)

1. I took Dex side on the way to Iron Grip to be able to equip high levels bows later.
2. I did not take IR becouse I like the fact that I am able to dodge attacks from bosses, yet have enough armor and HP to survive the blows. (Also dualist area have bonus for both evasion and armor)

Please let me know if you have any improvement you could add to this build.

Here is my HC Duelest LA ranger.

Once you get this far, you can just spend remaining points grabbing adjacent 8% hp nodes that are available all around, or that last 8% eva/armor next to duelist start, or grab the body and soul node tho I think 36% all res innate is fine.

Hakuryuukou LA Duelist

I dont get marauder start stuff because I like stacking max ele damage, 110%, and you need the 18% each resistance nodes before it to get there, so without needing diamond skin its not really worth it to me to go there. Id also have to take the 2x 15% crit reduction nodes and again I dont find them worth it on a ranged character. But you can do some shuffling of skills and grab them if you like.

And ranger is not useless, you will have much more evasion bonus for grace with a ranger, and you can get the as/stk speed major node right by ranger start on a separate branch too. And you can still grab goodies from duelist start with a ranger as well.

I just wanted to make the chara duelist as you have a little more free points to spend then with the ranger version of this build.

Yes it is based on Nalaa's LA ranger.

My la duelist is currently lvl30 in HC, about to kill vaal when I wake up tomorrow.

I use elemental hit+weapon elemental+life leech+faster attacks for single target and LA+LoH+weapon elemental+LMP for groups.

You can compensate for the evasion bonus by taking the 8 and 24% added bonus to evasion passives right next to acceleration, so therefore the duelist is still on par..

Secondly the crit reduction is especially usefull on hardcore :)

The duelist is superior on every front

Also your point of attack speed is also false, if you look at the duelist and ranger starting areas, the duelist nodes offer slightly more speed. Also the duelist has access to acceleration very quickly in first 10 levels making leveling much more fun. The ranger would require extra points on a side by side comparison to duelist to reach the same attack speed, which would take away other important nodes like life.

My 83 ranger on HC with 20% LMP and the same build had 2.1 IAS while my duelist in the exact same gear (as they are both on default now) and the exact spec minus the starting area has 2.78 IAS base.

Duelist wins hands down and there's no denying it

Your assuming my ranger ver of the build does not take duelist area nodes, it does.

Heres my ranger version, it ends up with a hair less damage and more evasion bonus. I take L&S major node on both so ranger still has higher eva.

Ranger version. Spend the rest of the points wherever you like, be it getting unwavering stance, more hp nodes, and/or the projectile keynode by ranger start and the damage leading to it.

Slightly less room to maneuver since you spend a lot on evasion at the start, but with grace and iron reflexes you have a hefty evasion bonus going so you will have great phys absorb.

Im currently considering shuffling some stuff around on my duelist (only 32 so I dont have to decide next) to get marauder start hp buffs and maybe drop some ele dmg and the 3 18% res nodes leading to it, Ill have to see.

Duelist ver with marauder start stuff and 30% less elemental bonus. Which version do you like better, is sacrificing 30% damage worth spending every last available point in survivability bonuses there? Will it put out enough damage?

Also I need to know how the crit reduction calculation works, is it an additive reduction or multiplicative?

One question, which is better for this build? Rings with aspd or weapon ele damage? Assuming theres also life and resists on them.

As i see it there is more survability with ranger tree and slightly more dps with duelist tree. More evasion with ranger or more proj dmg with duelist.

Me personally thought about rerolling to duelist for the slightly increase in dmg but after some thinking i rather go with more survavbility(more evaison as ranger) and for later leves(86+) i see ranger as a winner

This is how i roll

Currently lvl 82 and that build is for lvl 86 with 2 skillrewards from bandit. I prefer Blood magic support gem for la and frenzy so i can run 4-5 auras. I do miss the Berserking node but i will work on that as i reach lvl 89.

Im always open for suggestions and improvment
I think you wasted some points taking the armor bonuses. You already have high evasion percent from ranger start and leather&steel, you will want to wear pure evasion armor.

And obviously you already know you wasted a bit of points on meele dmg to get to life.

I dont find hp regen to be particularily important with an la build since LoH is an important part of the build, but it doesnt hurt.

Here is where Hakuryuukou is so far, currently 36 in HC

Next levels I will be getting the 30% ele dmg and Iron Reflexes/Celerity. Then I will head up toward catalyse.
Your build looks stabile. As for my armor nodes im using only evasion armor and IR also applys with armor nodes so they work almost as leather n steel am i right? Your right on the life regen but it feels safe but i´ll have that in conssideration.

15552armor with grace n determinaton atm, i will loose armor if remove steel skin
