(Ranged) Blight monsters attack foes which are not directly in their path.

From the official PoE: Blight page (emphasis mine):

Sister Cassia is trying to stop the spread of the mind-controlling Blight by destroying Fungal Growths. When attacked, the Blight commands infected monsters to defend it. The monsters mindlessly follow the Blight's tendrils, only attacking foes directly in their path.


However it seems blight monsters will attack any enemy in-range, including the purification pump and the player even when the player is off-screen from any lane. This is especially noticeable with ranged blight mobs.

I can't help but feel like fixing this bug would also fix the issue with portals being too close to pump ... Pump wouldn't be 'on the path' until the end of the path so mobs wouldn't attack it until the end of the path regardless of how close to the pump the path gets. :|

Perhaps this is how it was planned to work from the start which is why 'portals close to pump' wasn't fixed prior to launch (because it wasn't going to be an issue), and maybe mobs attacking enemies off-lane is the "issue that we are aware of and tried to get fixed for Blight's initial release. The problem turned out to be a lot harder than it initially seemed, and the team are still looking for a good solution." -Natalia_GGG


Communication either way would be great especially since this functionality is explicitly described on the Blight league info page.

THIS is why you have problems with player retention GGG. At least for players like me (only play HC, stop playing when I've died to "bullshit" which ofc is very subjective).

P.S. Not limited to fire ball minions.
That last one clearly illustrates the 'bunching up' effect. I count around 20? enemy health bars basically on top of each other. Which means they all fire at once, which creates that beam of death.

Thanks for all the examples this league also suck for none HC players... i lost so many Blighted maps that i had to stop playing... it is just not fun to lose to mechanics that you can not fight in any way.

I wonder why the hell GGG is not answering anything... they are totally losing me with all this silence.
