No customization..At all?

Predefined characters in a certain way is a feature that has its good sides. You're playing a character, who has some purpouse and place within the universe.

As for me, it's kind of hard to imagine that Witch would be a male. It just doesn't fit well.

It's nice to have a character you can build from scratch, but then the universe would lose some sort of cohesion in my opinion. Depending on the amount of customization allowed of course.

If there is one point I really have to disagree with then it is this one. Your comment was probably meant as a casual throw away line but I don't believe anyone who has spent more than a few days playing PoE could ever accuse the devs of being "lazy". Really.
I used to be apathetic, now I just don't care.

You try to make your own indie game with limited budget and man-power...
Let's see if you can still call GGG "lazy" after that.

Everything you are asking has already been known by GGG for quite some time already, and those features will be added to the game in the future.
As for wanting opposite gender to be released right now, that won't happen, because there are many more important game features they need to add first(6th class, Act 3, more skills gems etc. etc.). So you'll have to wait, or you can donate $10 and help the developers out and get your gender faster!

Bleh..There goes Roleplay out the window.

Hating the idea of looking like every single player.

This is there buisness modell. A F2P game were you don't buy strong items. The only income will be character customizations.
New Spell effects, modells and so on

I suggest, since the dev's failed so bad in not letting your marauder have bobbies, is all the haters (who also know better and are more intelligent than the devs), do make your own game, with all the boobie sliders you want.

I'm young, yes.
But I'd like to think that games have progressed since the old games like Diablo with simple additions that are a must for an MMO.

Still, it's a matter of time and by extension money. You cannot compare GGG to most other MMO developers. For one thing because they are maybe not even a tenth of the size of most development studios you might be familiar with (Blizzard, for example has over 4.000 employees; GGG has barely 20*). For another, PoE is not really an MMO. When Blizzard announced that D3 would feature selectable genders per class, it was still new for the genre.

Thing is: Customization does not add to the core game, and therefore is something than can be added later. I'm quite sure sure it will be added (a perfect addition for the cash shop in my eyes), but for now, there should be other priorities.

*which is still fewer than the original Diablo had developers.

In my opinion we will have a 50% chance of being able obtain another gender option via cash shop like many mmos. It's probably what they had in mind for aesthetics options within the cash shop anyway.

This chance will most likely be increased if more female gamers are attracted to this game, since some of them may not mind spending a meager amount of cash for something that represents their gender.

I'd like to see a basic character creator in game, one similar to Dungeon Siege 1, or 2 would proberly be enough, a few heads and hair styles would be fine.

Also a hide helm to complement the char acreator if wanted to not run about with a bucket on your head.

:)
Ok so everyone here realizes that PoE is an indie game with a small team right?

These are all good features to have but they are by no means essential, and considering funding for this project isn't coming from a big publisher and the devs have stated their intention to keep this as a continued project well after release I think its safe to assume that the intention is to release the game in a solid state with a good amount of content which provides a rich gameplay experience.

Then with that out the way and a solid player base established they can start to work on more cosmetic additions such as gender or hair colour.

Adding them in right now would result in lost content elsewhere and while some might prefer a fancy hair do over a dungeon I think the majority would go for the latter.

EDIT:
Also remember this isnt the finished game yet, they could well be preparing these pieces for release, although I would doubt that.

How about some steel wool to get the rust off some of the starting armor?
In Wraeclast, if someone tries to kill you... you just kill them right back.
