Is there a diminishing return on IIR and IIQ?
Math has been done before and iirc the optimal IR:IQ ratio was about 1.61:1
Getting IQ, of course, is much harder than stacking IR. When I farm merciless solo on my ranger I have like 75% IQ and 305% IR right now, far from optimal. |

Have done some testing and partybuff quantity works quite straight forward.
Example: You run alone and kill kole in solaris with 0% quantity. From my experience kole drops 8 items then so we set base drop 8. This is the base drop number of that specific mob with 0% quantity. In a party of varying size this would turn into: partysize : base drop + (base drop x partybonus) = drops 2 : 8 + (8 x 0,5) = 12 items 3 : 8 + (8 x 1,0) = 16 items 4 : 8 + (8 x 1,5) = 20 items 5 : 8 + (8 x 2,0) = 24 items 6 : 8 + (8 x 2,5) = 28 items ---------------------------------------------------------------------- EFFECTIVE QUANTITY Now how increased quantity on gear works with "diminishing" return 100% quantity on kole kill solo (dont know if this is the rule for all mobs): kole drops 14 items from my experience with 100% quantiy = 100% quantity from gear = drop - base drop = 14-8 = 6 items from this we can see that a 100% quantity does not give 2x the base drop so there is a diminishing return. the diminishing return in this specific case mean the effective quantity increase is: drops = base + (base * quant * dim) drops-base = base * quant * dim 14-8 = 8 * quant * dim 6 = 8 * quant * dim 6/(8*quant) = dim 6/(8*1,00) = 0,75 = 75% So from 100% quantity on gear u will see 100 x 0,75 = 75% more drops than with 0% quantity on Kole. This mean each quantity point is only worth 0,75 effective quantity at this amount. Drops = 8 + (8 * 0,75) = 14 items ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Did some testing with 153% quantity on Kole. Got a total of 15 items now. drops = base + (base * quant * dim) drops-base = base * quant * dim 15-8 = 8 * quant * dim 7 = 8 * quant * dim 7/(8*quant) = dim 7/(8*1,53) = 0,57 = 57% So from 153% quantity on gear u will see 153 x 0,57 = 87,21% more drops than with 0% quantity on Kole. This mean each quantity point is only worth 0,57 effective quantity at this amount. Drops = 8 + (8 * 0,8721) = 14,96 -> 15 items -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Quantity on gear combined with quantity from partysize seems to work the way your personal drop after diminishing return multiplied with partybonus. In a party of varying size this would look like: partysize: (base + (base x effective quantity)) x (1 + extra partybuff) = drop 2 : (8 + (8 * 0,75)) x (1 + 0,5) = 21 items 3 : (8 + (8 * 0,75)) x (1 + 1,0) = 28 items 4 : (8 + (8 * 0,75)) x (1 + 1,5) = 35 items 5 : (8 + (8 * 0,75)) x (1 + 2,0) = 42 items 6 : (8 + (8 * 0,75)) x (1 + 2,5) = 49 items In this example the 100% effective quantity (0,75) is used. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is only quantity and not rarity. Numbers may vary slightly up and down as i have no idea at what point the different "diminishing" return values set in and there is alot of rounding up/down when it comes to actual drops ingame. Would like some input if i have gotten something wrong. |

There's a diminishing return to practically every freaking thing in this game.
