(OLD) Public Weekend Ladder Race Events

So.. you know the logout trick to get back to town quickly without needing a Portal Scroll. Its a valuable shortcut to use especially in races. If we use this trick during the races, is there a possibility that we'll be queued up to log back in? Or will the queue be disabled for racing purposes?

I sure hope people get queued for exploiting this in a competition.

Great stuff man, tonight 11 pm in New York is perfect for me! The last one sucked it was right during prime time dinner hour I was juggling between cooking chicken wings for the family and rushing through as a mauler.

I plan to do better in this one.

I don't think there's any reason for the queue to not be there so plan your route accordingly ;)

Remember to also give yourself sufficient time to log back in if you want your character to start standing up.
And as it is such so also as such is it unto you

The only problem is how do you punish people for exploiting it without also punishing people who get disconnected for legitamate reasons beyond their control?

How much of a race can it truly be called if people have to wait queued up just to participate for a timed event? The only race is to see who can log in first and stay logged in. This is of course IF there is a queue. There may not even be enough people playing the game to warrant the use of a queue system.

Don't get me wrong, deep down I do believe that people shouldn't be able to exploit the logging trick. But.. so long as it's available to everyone I don't see why anyone shouldn't take advantage of it. At the moment, it's just another feature in my opinion.

You could wipe instance as soon as a person log out/ discconect. It would be the equivelant of using waypoints.

Hm... I'll be doing ladder #3. Don't really feel like waisting any time in softcore. I might be doing #4 as well since its only 2 hours.

You can check your progress on http://exileladder.appspot.com/. Why would you use it instead of official Ladder page?

- the page updates itself automatically, so you don't need to hit refresh
- easy to check per-class standings
- search by account and by character name
- mobile-friendly UI

Currently the Default and Hardcore leagues are updated every 30 minutes, while event leagues will be updated every minute.

Have fun!
