Divine Orb

I was always under the impression that it would reroll within the same affix, and indeed it seems to

This is the way I think it should be done, but perhaps to broaden the range of certain affixes might be a little more convenient for its use.
But that is indeed a good idea, maybe make a separate (even rarer maybe) orb that would reroll the same stats in a different affix level.

Or just reroll the affixes themselves, but not actually change the item in the process. So it would put the item's affixes into a different range but have the same mods.
i too fas fo youuuuuuu
We've only been in this patch for a few months with a relatively small number of endgame players.

Divine orb is the last step in the crafting process after 4 quality boosters, a bajillion alterations and some augs, a ton of regals, a handful of exalts, and another bajillion jewelers, fusings, and chromas.

I don't think we've hit the amount of global time required for items like this to start requiring divines, nor the endgame challenge to even make it a worthy investment.

Until then, the only other use is rerolling uniques that cost somewhere between a few alchs minimum and 300ish chances (to auto-uniquify) something on the high end. The price will fall to match the average unique cost and then rise sharply to its previous status as an exalted equivalent much, much, much later on in the game.

Divine should be changed. It's useless and/or too rare. I simply don't want to reroll the same "name" mod, but i want to reroll all possible range of those values within that item level.
It only seems logical.

If i get 40% physical damage on lvl 73 item, i simply would want to reroll the whole value within all the possible ones on that item lvl.

Do you think it would be OP? No, because there is 1/6 chance that you will roll a stat you want and there bazillion small chance to role the value you want, but if that goes wrong your other perfect stats might go "kaput". That's a reasonable risk vs reward vs rarity of the orb.

right now it's just useless. Nobody wants to use a orb to change uber small values that will barely do anything. I only find it remotely useful for "absolute perfect gear" just for OCD sake.
So Divine orbs only work within one tier of any affix.Like D2 had tiers on affixes which were good to know for low level dueling, for instance if you went over the max for that affix tier it would go into another tier increasing the level(often confused people when you only wanted a 18 mana gc instead of their 25 mana GC).

You actually have more control and more chance of getting what you want if they work this way,you just have to depend on the right item dropping.Thing is you could trade for such items because not everyone will be aware of how it works. You could for instance buy the lowest value of that affix because people will sell it cheaper but it has as much chance of getting a perfect roll from divines as something that is midway or just 1 off.
vote for: Divine orbs are good as they are.
They are far from useless. Used on a good unique item they can make price differences of several exalteds.

The orb has the ability to max out the highest available mods on any given item, making it extremely powerful, and SHOULD be damn rare. This is the kind of item that people seek out when they trying to maximize and get the absolute most out of their weapons/armors.

Their use is limited, and should remain this way.

in reality, divine should be worth like twice a blessed if it doesn't reroll affixes of same type. but even then blessed has more utility at this point lol

But Blessed only rerolls values for implicits that cannot change, and are easily found on every base item that you're looking for.
Divines have the potential to reroll values for any pre/suffix in the game, and are used at the end of a godly craft to make it even more godly.

They're fine as-is.
