i skipped abyss league and didn't pay much attention then, but by 3.2 (incursion, iirc?), it was a widely used item and considered rather top tier, if not considered blatantly OP.

iirc, that league was arc trap inpulsa meta.

I played abyss league, Inpulsa was a T2 unique there as it was introduced. I dropped 4 of them during the league. It was worth 1c until close to the end of the league people found out how to use it.
While being a good item from the beginning it wasn't in the limelight at all, some people used it and it became meta as it was found out how herald of ice works in conjunction with Inpulsa, namely the herald having the ability to shock, which causes enemies to explode and freeze, which causes the herald to proc again.

Before that there wasn't any similar stat in the game, so it was fairly obvious that it would take a while to pick up, nonetheless it took far far longer then I expected, people I've been playing with together have thrown several of them to the vendor as trash while one of them has 11 of the legacy version in his stash still, having foreseen the change and it becoming meta.

and some of the same people popping up in this thread were arguing tooth and nail that it wasn't.

but we're just "inexperienced," so what did/do we know?

He is probably thinking about old vaal pact, It is true at that time no-one was knowing about zerphi 100 000 life regen/sec since it was a pvp thing only.

Yes Vaal pact was easier to use however zerphi was way stronger even before the "nerf" but it was complicated and needed a specific build (pathfinder) hence most of those meta slaves could not understand the concept or did not want to bother using more than one button on their keyboard and kept to vaal pact, a simple nod on tree.

The big shame is when VP got gutted those guys still would not listen about Zerphi and it needed like 2 leagues before they understood it because of Markusz simple build.

This is one of the two reason those guys ask for achievement or looking at profiles, they don t understand concepts and need to visualize. They can t believe words they need visual aids like children.

The fact that we only used disclosure about zerphi to the devs and not to the public until the reddit build did not help sure, but they just can t understand what they don t see and can t copy.

That and they are of bad faith because they don t really argument anything but asking for achievements.

They have no arguments to counter the point being made about the game raising the power creep level each league. Power creep is how they make their virtual ego work.

Without the powercreep or without copying a build they are anonymous players.

Being "someone" in poe or any game for that matter is very important for them and power creep is helping because they don t even need effort in order to feel important.


You achieved nothing until you show your profile is a ridiculous concept considering we address our feedback to the devs and not them but being self centered like they are, they think we own them something ...It is the second reason why they ask that all the time.
