You dont use the gem. You use the passive skill node + Resolute Technique.



The Blood Magic gem is perfectly viable and can be used instead of the Keystone. In fact on HC this may be the better option because it allows you to use your mana to run Purity and other auras, which would otherwise reserve 40% of your life.

Templar would add more ele dmg
Marauder would add more life
At like level 90 though there would be no difference because you could spec into both. If I rerolled my duelist LA I would pick marauder.

If I were you I would just wait until the duelist buff patch in a couple of days. You never know if duelist will become stronger than the other two.

I got an amulet that gives 30 dex, I unequip it and my DPS goes down with lightning arrow. No other modifiers on the amulet that would otherwise effect damage in any way.


The reason you see your DPS go up when you equip the DEX amulet, is that your accuracy goes up, so you hit more often. This is factored into your DPS readout, so it's not that DEX increases Bow/Projectile damage, it's just that more accuracy means more average DPS.

Seems to me like you would still be better off with 90% to hit and maybe grab some crit nodes instead of getting resolute technique. Being able to put shock stacks on bosses would be a ton of extra DPS over not being able to shock stuff.

There is no way to be able to maintain a 90%+ to hit chance at higher levels when you have to spend all your skill points on health nodes and crit nodes.
