(DHC - 1:105!!) There ain't no rest for the botters...
Prices raise in HC, because botters (RMT traders) found very nice, relatively safe and lucrative niche for themselves. Rampaged in SC incursion first, but were wipe out from there, as GGG or rather Tencent was too afraid of drowning the economy and departure playerbase from the chaos / exalt parity to some other currency types. So bots was temporarily banned, rather in the form of a warning than a long-term trend. The lesson has been understood, therefore the exalt/chaos price does not exceed the level that players are still able to accept (with pain).
That's why all the bot activity has now switched to HC, to use all the "amenities" that this mode provides for RMT traders. First of all, GGG does not care for HC. If it cares, it would wipe out the commonly used "logout macro". But who cares? Then HC is niche itself. And HC is ... just HC. When a character dies, he is "dead" in the sense that he can no longer play in the HC league. This means that every player who wants to play the character he played must create and re-create it from scratch. In this case, the easiest way is to get all the equipment for the currency, bought for real money. Bingo! That’s why there is bots Eldorado on HC right now. GGG does not care, league is exceptionally “rippy” due Delve mechanics and many players are so proud of being… “hurr durr… top elite gamers, so good, that almost indestructible”. I constantly see some murmurs in style “oh, do it in HC”. So, dear HC players, you choose hardcore mode in game, it is time to feel hardcore prices too :P Like SC brothers, forced to pay 117/1 :P |

I think part of the issue with banning bots, is that a lot of real people play this game like bots.
When you have REAL people putting in 20 hour sessions 4+ days a week, I would guess it would be difficult to determine who the bot actually is? I've seen the video... I've seen the micro steps and start-stop style walking those bots do. I don't thing GGG would easily be able to create a detection algorithm that checks the entire playerbase for not only time played, but the actual server inputs from each user. It sounds daunting... Theyve done it in the past, but I'm wondering how many bans they had in error? Maybe they had more unintentional bans then they wanted? Maybe they are still working on getting their detection software up to par? I could see from a customer standpoint rather than banning erroneously take the time to get the code better/right. Seems weird that if code is written to detect this... and all someone has to do is hit "run" that it hasn't been done already. There must be some sort of complication to this process. Maybe even because of Delve. Last edited by Prizy#1622 on Oct 4, 2018, 10:56:19 AM

" U r right. That what I was talking about. Botters switched to HC because GGG dont ban them here. The initial idea of this theme was to show this HC bot problem to GGG. But after 3 weeks with no reaction I think they just don't care. About HC prices: well lower ratios for last years were always reasonable. And it was intresting to play in such economy. I dont think that HC players should suffer from SC prices, because it is already harder to play HC - u play slower incase of different risk, so wtf u must get same reward as on Sc? High risk - high reward(that what HC was before Incursion). Now it is high risk - no reward - not really intresting to play with. Playing HC with standard prices makes SSFHC the only way to go. But this league become so fkin boring that I'll better quit the game. " It is not difficult to determine the bot. If u watch this video again, u will notice that bots walk and stay in the SAME place. It means it's code tells them to move to exact point and repeat it again and again. The real player will not repeat same coord for 100 times - it is just impossible. There also much more ways to find the bot(checking average sell values for example). |

High risk - high reward - thats reason why i always play on hc. Also it was free from rmt\bot server. It was... To great happiness to me, in a month a new online game will be released - F76. I will be able to observe the botting situation on the part of and come back if things change for the better. Unfortunately, this game is unique and you can’t just go to another game becuse there is not similar online rpg games.

Guys, a casual question .......
Isn't it too easy to refer all and complete of the impact on Chaos prices in leagues to botting activities? I mean, each legue has and had its own mechanics which impacts more or less the market values. Especially now in Delve where Fossil crafting e.g. substitute a lot of Chaos crafting? I call nothing BS here, but I doubt you just easily have to compare leagues par to par to get an safe evidence for more or less bot activity. Cheers "better to simply go balls deep full retard if you gonna go retard." -Boem-

" I almost posted asking the same question. (regarding HC leagues) I agree EX prices are crazy, but I have never considered buying them either. I have also found way more then normal amount rare rings and ammys this season in delves - so much so I'm not even doing chaos recipe anymore because its too much work! something that's never happened to me before. keep in mind too - the price of EX is greatly affected by the numbers of people selling items asking for them instead of C. mid- late season is probably a peak time where slower players are finally buying those last expensive pieces to their builds... priced in EX. " Theme already includes posts with answers to this question. But I got charmed by ur polite style so I'll write answer again. Do u remember that situation with bot banwave in incursion? Sc prices wasabout 1:180c before the wave and dropped to 1:70 after bots got banned. Price stood on this level almost till the end of the league. This situation clearly shows bots impact. Ofc different league mechanics affect prices, but botting affect it most. For example SC ex price on Incursion with bots banned was around 1:70 with no good Zana mods. Now, in Delve we got great mods to sink chaos, but ex reached 1:117. All this happened just because bots not being banned. If they would U could easily get 1:60 ratio. " Same here, thinking of trying wow BFA since I have not seen it yet. But it is not really good that people have to leave game incase of botters. I hope GGG understand it. " Actually this does not affect total number of chaos in the game, so it cause no inflation. But bots that do chaos recipe 24/7 produce thousands of chaos every day. Just imagine this chaos flow from 1000 bots. Real people just can't do so much chaos cos nobody can do it infinitely. Chaos inflation works same way as price inflation in real economy. Let's say USA started printing dollars as crazy. As number of goods stay the same, but dollars ammount increases in economy, it will drive prices higher. |

No need for bots farming currency if people didn't want to buy the currency...
There is a market and the market is being filled. |

As I write this Delve SC is hitting 120c for 1ex...
I remember at the beginning of the Delve league. Someone I know as soon as they hit level 50, immediately equipped approximately 100 chaos worth of gear. Most likely this gear was bought with chaos that was purchased on a real money exchange site. So long as people can purchase currency in a game for real money there will be bots farming said currency and as long as the devs do little to nothing about the problem, there will always be legit players that have to work twice as hard to make up for the inflation. Sad but true! Lets just all quit playing and if there are nothing but bots playing, the devs will stop making money and instead lose money and PoE will die in a fire and the problem will once and for all be solved. |
