major end game design flaw (map drop rates / currency dump)

In closed beta did 19 maps in a row without a drop, all level 60 alched to at least 80% iiq shit was weak and why I'm not really interested right now in doing maps

Lol so make people regress for investing time into the game in the name of a currency sink? You should not be losing currency by playing more, people will just quit.

Diamond... professional... Surely you are the one who is not right in the head. You shouldn't be having these expectations at all. View everyone as an equal and discuss as adults. Throwing around insults is not the way to go about telling someone you disagree with them.

Surely the Eternal Lab & map system is just a placeholder for now? surely?!

Surely.

How is

"I expect more professional criticism from a diamond supporter" a insult?

What world are you living in? Haha.

You must believe every type of opinion is an insult huh? sad

I have seen both ends of this. I am on the 'winning' end the last several days. Went from 4-5 maps to 40 maps in a few days of map running. Lots of alts/chisels/alchemy and some luck. Trying to sustain maps is crazy. Hopefully the adjustment to pack size variance in the next patch does something to even out the drops. It does seem as though some maps are pretty empty.

I empathise with the frustration of getting poorer in order to run really high level maps. I agree with the IIQ mods not stacking appropriately in some cases, as advocated by Sl4yer.

But I'm not sure what you guys in the high 80s/90s are actually looking for when it comes to high level map content?

Isn't high end content *meant* to be a currency sink so as to avoid hyperinflation as the bulk of the player base moves there? If it isn't, the rich will get richer and the poor get poorer (like real life) and fairly quickly the disparity in wealth between new and seasoned players will be exponentially large.

If you guys are just looking for "challenge", then I would advocate for a "play ground" dungeon where mobs drop only maps, but not items - where mods are random and can be reset/rebooted a la MoC. Perhaps in endless-dungeon style.

Or reroll a new toon - I personally have no intention of trying to play past mid 80s with a single char, I'd die of boredom - but that's fine as I'd like to explore the plethora of options that PoE avails us.

You're not losing currency, you're exchanging it for experience and higher level gear. It's perfectly fair.

What's not fair is how not rewarding are harder maps.

map drop rates make no sense at all. end game content shouldn't be dependant on rng. probably won't be coming back until this shit gets reworked. was fun while i was delusional though. good game overall, end game just sucks shit.

groups shouldn't be getting fucked on map drops when they chisel, alch, and roll every 72+ map with an obscene amount of chaos orbs, and do the same to 75+ maps, even exalting the good ones. it's the most retarded end game i've ever seen in my life, tbh.

are you sorry you paid 1000$?

It simply is bad economics. Currency sink should be in the game but one part of the game should not be sinking 90%+ of the currency.
just bring back moc with good exp and leave maps for better item drop rates or some shit, isnt that hard..
