Beta feedback The biggest problem of PoE-Leeachers

A lot of the problems with difference in difficulty between normal content and chaos will soon be moot because of act 3 and so on. Discussing it is a bit pointless.

In such case why GGG made such a huge mistake - no lvl cap for the players , yet we have a lvl capped TEST ZONE that gives unreal exp ?!

I find this really hard to understand , it's like shooting yourself in the foot .

They wanted/needed feedback on how endgame should work and created Chaos.

Since then the difficulty of chaos has been discussed to death. Every time difficulty has decreased it gave a lot of uproar. Every time difficulty has increased they have also got an uproar.

It once was a zone with multiple difficulties, but it gave too many problems with players never hitting the difficulty they wanted and we saw widespread use of tping outside the zoning to keep the highest difficulty open.

Why not improve it so you can choose whatever difficulty you like? Chaos was never meant to be such. It is a temporary zone in the closed beta to gain feedback.

Btw. There is a level-cap on players of 100. It does exist, though nobody will reach it before more content is added, which means act 3.

Please remember that the game is still in closed beta for a reason!
I appear to be living in "Romance Standard Time". That has to be good! :)

That is to some extent a feature they are planning for the endgame.
It's also quite possible that it will be for the entire game, but that is lower priority.

Oh back, sorry for my missunderstanding.

on that distance I actually have no answer, maybe can do some trial next time in a party.

In 0.9.7, you won't be able to leech from across the map like that.

So it seems that distance is unlimited. It's not the true cause of the leechers issue but this definitely facilitates it... Fortunately, this won't last long :)

I'm not sure about that, I've read that in a suggestion thread, and nowhere else.

They said in the beta manifesto that they will do it for endgame and in a PM that it's quite possible that we'll have a system like this for the entire game.
I hope they fix this!

If you dont leech you fall behind others, if its in wealth of items or in power of items.
I like to have to fight my way through, but to know there are some leechers around that get power by afk, ridiculous.

Pure classcanon builds which need uber gear to survive at least some dmg, are leechers first choise. I hope they dont balance around such builds so only leecherbuilds are viable.

Ways to avoid leecher:

a)Exp based on dmg done

Yes its an exp nerf for tankbuilds and pure buff/debuffer.
But only at the view of the current state.
If change it so, and take of view of the new state, the tankbuild wants to group up with dpsbuild and buffbuilds to increase his progress, due exp boost by more players.
Same to the other builds. On soloplay there is no drawback, because its all yours exp like in the current state.

b)Own Loot

At the first view, this whould change nothing, because you can share all loot like in the current state.
But own loot gives no 100% security of trust.
If you do all the work you cant see if the leecher picks up crap or uberloot. Less trust, less leeching.
English is my third language, there will be bugs.

Pretty much this

When I played the beta for continent of the 9th, the mechanics of exp and loot functioned like this.

Im not 100% sure if it was "last kill" or "most dmg" but you could tell the player that was more aggressive got more exp. Also, to the person that got that exp also got the loot, even if it was picked up by someone else. When my friend and i played c9, we'd pick up items for each other since we knew the system would give it to the proper owner. If he killed a monster by himself and forgot to pick it up and I went to grab it, it'd go to his inventory. It actually made life easier because the one that was the most aggressive got the item because they earned it.
Running isn't freedom. You should know that.
ighnaz - Thanks for the beta key!!!!
I HAVE NO MORE BETA KEYS!!
This problem is 100% addressed by playing with friends. Many of the suggestions in this thread just create another problem somewhere else.

I'd much rather them leave it the way it is and let people choose wisely who they play with.

You cannot leave the way it is, because it breaks the game, and economy. There will be a PvP, and there is also a ladder, so leaving it as it is, will break it.
Xp based on damage is silly. I don't even need to explain why, it has been discussed so many times already...
