Any ETA on fixing these ridiculous AMD FPS drops? (e: Nvidia cards affected as well!)

my friends and I have lost so many lvl 70+s in HC coz of the FPS spikes / freezes its not even funny ....
so we moved all our items / chars to softcore and we play there now ... what else can we do

Somebody, please explain in detail these AMD-specific FPS drops, and how I can reproduce them. In my time of playing, I haven't had any ridiculous FPS drops or anything that I can recall, nor have I died from such.

Join a party and watch your fps go to hell. It's as easy as this.

They finally stealth patched the game. My card is getting 401 fps everything max.

I have crossfire setup 6990m's in my alienware and can run virtually any current game on ultra, yet at random times in PoE I get horrible lag (to the point of dying repeatedly due to it every time mobs show up).

Once it hits (usually runs fine) it doesn't go away completely until I restart my entire computer. This has got to be a game issue as there's no way my PC should be lagging playing a game like this.

Side note: My desktop also has an ATI card and experiences the same issue.

this is why i try to play solo, but when i even am doing solo there are some monsters that cause lags, and i tend to just farm low level for currencies now, as there is not many easier way to level.

So just farm for now and make the currencies, that is like only thing you CAN do when your amd user, or upgrade your graphics board, THOUGH there will still be pre-load problems with other character's skill.

I ordered a new one from Amazon, just for testing purpose (but don't tell them^^) and it didn't help. Solo it's nearly all fine, as soon as i group fps drops to single digits in crowded areas.

Edit:
100 fps in town with drops to 70 while doing nothing.
60 fps @ Docks Solo with drops to 3 in combat.
30 fps in 2 player group @ Docks with drops to 0 for several seconds in combat.

I wasn't able to find a Docks party with summoner witches or LA rangers, but I was in a pretty common group, in A3 Barracks and A1. My FPS went from 120 to 60ish, and I only noticed this because I had a FPS counter up (in other words, I could play just fine).

In which difficulty? The problem doesn't really start until Merciless. This is when most builds start coming together and players can start spamming their skills with all the support gems they want. I just started a new play through and loved how smooth the game was... Then I hit Act 3 in Merciless and it was back to the slide show for me.
