IMO it comes down to trust. I trust GGG. I trust that they will keep their values, and keen making an amazing aRPG, designed by aRPGers. I trust that they made the right choice and that everything said in the original post was accurate. When have they led us wrong?

Mark Jacobs, CEO of Mythic wrote all of the subscribers a very nice letter, saying how everything was going to be great under EA, and I believe he honestly meant it. He then answered a bunch of "made up questions" that would belay our concerns.

A year and a half later, he was terminated, the original Mythic Staff were fired or shipped off to Redwood, and the hollowed out husk of Mythic was dumped off to Bioware's D-Team to put in permanent life-support.

I Trust Chris Wilson's intentions just as much as I trusted Mark Jacobs. Implicitly. But I trust Tencent less than even EA.

GGG will be allowed their autonomy right up until they fail at something or Tencent decides they can make more money doing things their way. For Mythic, that was right up until Warhammer Online failed. Who knows what the landmine that prompts Tencent to scatter the GGG we love to the winds. But it's out there, lurking.

This.

Buying a company is different than buying IP. The IP could be owned by the founders within the limitations of a patent. THIS IS AN INVESTMENT Tencent lends money to GGG with the goal of making those money back in 5-10 years and turning a profit. This provides financial security and stability and insures stability of Operations and promotes growth. If you everyone stops buying supporter packs this whole ordeal becomes a great loss of money for both Tencent and GGG which will lead to layoffs and finally force all share holder to liquidate their assets to compensate partially for the loss. Entitled morons like you brought this to them selves with their ever present demand for new and better stuff.

You still talking about money? I told you before - Tencent do this thing NOT FOR COMPANY AND MONEY, they do this JUST FOR IP. You will see the later, not for now. Keep live in your dream dude :)
Aaron Ciccheli, a guy who made millions running Diablo and PoE RMT sites, owns a significant portion of GGG. How's that for a conflict of interest? 7.5% of your supporter pack money goes to this guy.
A simple question : why ?

Also a precision on the % of shares bought would be interesting, especially for the players that supported you GGG.

In all my years as gamer... when i see back, i can clearly see that i have gone away from big publishers. just take a look what the big ones does to their games and community, and u know what i mean.

my last 10 games played are "little" indie-studios like redhooks darkest dungeon or 11bits frostpunk. or even the lhiver mod from gothic 2 i reinstalled. they have good ideas with very good execution and the heart in the right place.

u guys are/were one of them, and i love/d you for it.

i came to you coz i loved d2. d2 was a traveling-companion for 10 years. i played it with friends, all my friends played it. in school i played it, in university i played it. and when i served in the military i played d2.
i was hyper-hyped on d3 and they broke my heart on release with their adaptation on whats diablo.

i support you guys from beta. your game does everything right. thanks for that.

but...

i have some experience with playing games that their own developers destroy (in my eyes). and now u guys are in the range of doing this to your game. as soon as i see a questionable desicion i will quit forever, hands down.

Wikipedia:
"Grinding Gear Games (or GGG) is a Tencent owned video game developer"

when i get integrated in such A BEAST sure my first words are "nothing will change", and "we are who we ever were" - yes.

i hope u dont forget thats your community that playes YOUR GAME, and now its NOT YOURS ANYMORE. we as community are sitting in the first row to feel the mistakes on that topic.

You realize that tencent has never interfered with games they bought and it's not just GGG stating that to appease everyone?
meh, maybe they have brains for delete lab

I'll stop throwing money to you all because of Tencent, the largest gaming company and maybe the shitest company in the world, caring less about gameplay and fun, just bringing shitty P2W MTX to leech players and feed themselves. They will likely change the whole gaming industry as they get stronger. I'm a player from China and enjoy your game for a long time, but now this happened. What a shame!

As I said elsewhere:
This makes me think of beta days, when Chris said the MTXs weren't going to be pay to win. Not many believed him, but it's still true to this day.

That just means that Chris is honest :p not the new taskmasters

Edit: rip
