You can try the Witch but it will be harder. The league is ending soon as well so it's not the best time to start a new character, it will switch you over to standard before you get very far. Maybe wait for the new league before you start over? You can spend time farming up currency right now, you should still be able to clear tier 2 maps with the Templar you have.

I am just a bit bored using Ball of Lightning right now. I am currently on Tier 7-8 maps. I have a very hard time fighting bosses that use Chaos damage. :( I have hard time getting more Life. I know my helmet sucks. :( But I like the 4 linked Blue for now.

I just started this game a few weeks ago. What happens in Standard League? I haven't done much with the Beast thing. I just captured them but barely do anything with them. lol

I wonder if a Miner is a better "melee" character. I can run into melee range or away.

Worth noting that Blasphemy curses do not affect your own character, as you seem to think. There are some ways to curse yourself, but Blasphemy is not one of them.

I've been wanting to make a melee-focused character. My first attempt on Inquistor with wild strike fails. I just can't survive at melee range. I also didn't know how to equip him and 2H Staff is kind of hard for melee.

I am looking at Occultist melee with her curse auras. What do you think?

You could probably pull off a melee occultist based around curses. With the emphasis on chaos damage from Profane Bloom and Malediction, it might be best to go with a chaos-based attack, though you could probably still run Wild Strike if you wanted to.

Probably far from the best build in the world, but I didn't use GG gear in the setup so there is that. I don't have a lot of experience making poison builds though, so I'm sure someone's probably done something better than I could XD;

I wonder what a high level Curse can do. I know some bosses have a lot of resistance to them. I figure a melee Occultist is cool with 2-3 Curse Auras. Yeah, maybe it's more team-based character.

I am also thinking about making a Miner. Can't decide to go with Scion or Ranger. lol

In Standard league whatever they introduced in the league before either disappears or doesn't show up as often. You won't get as much currency when they switch your character over to standard league. So if you started a Witch now, you'll probably get up to a level 60 or 70 depending on how often you play. Then it will switch you to standard, you can still play it but you won't be getting as much currency as you would in league play. Usually when the new league starts, everyone just starts a new character. The market gets worse at the end of the league too. So it's kind of a race when the league starts, who ever gets to the maps sooner will get the most currency.

If you are getting bored then the Witch is on o.k choice. There are a lot of combos you can do. Spell damage would benefit more with the Occultist because of the power charge buff you get which adds spell damage per power charge. Even if you built a good character you're probably better off running the tier 4 and 5 maps at a level 79. I know it's boring but the game can get that way. You just have to endure it to get yourself up to a level 90 then you can start thinking about taking on the Shaper.
