3 active curses?
Is it possible to have 3 active curses? Occultist has 2 and then Whispers of Doom adds 1.
How is melee Occultist? I am thinking of carrying 3 Curse auras. Last bumped on May 13, 2018, 1:21:09 PM

The wiki article on Curses lists the potential maximum of active curses on an enemy.

So enemies can have up to 8 Curses but Player's Curse aura can only have up to 2 types? That's bummer.

" I'm not sure you've understood. You can apply up to a maximum of eight curses to an enemy. I find it difficult to justify optional purchases to support a Tencent-owned development studio that declines to provide customers Technical Support, regardless of how many thousands of euros that customer has spent...

" For some reasons I read that curse on Player or from Player is up to 2. I assumed it meant the skill gem that changes Curse to Aura. So if I have enough mana reserve, I can carry at least 3 Curse Aura right? |

" I've been wanting to make a melee-focused character. My first attempt on Inquistor with wild strike fails. I just can't survive at melee range. I also didn't know how to equip him and 2H Staff is kind of hard for melee. I am looking at Occultist melee with her curse auras. What do you think? |

You won't get a Witch any tankier than a Templar. All the characters need some form of defense to get you through the maps. There are several ways you can do it. The Occultist has some nice energy shield buffs in her ascendancy. If you're getting a melee build then you can also get Fortify. Enfeeble, Essence Drain, Mind over Matter, totems, Orb of Storms with Curse on Hit, Blind, and Chance to Flee. There are lots of options to make you more survivable but you need to make sure they synergize, work together.
I haven't tried a curse build with the Witch, but I have played the Occultist. A curse build would probably be tough if you're going at it solo, just seems to me that would work better in a team play so you would be more of a support role. That Whispers of Doom takes up about five skill points which is a lot you could be spending on defense. So if you are already having trouble dying then your build idea probably is not a good one. " You could probably pull off a melee occultist based around curses. With the emphasis on chaos damage from Profane Bloom and Malediction, it might be best to go with a chaos-based attack, though you could probably still run Wild Strike if you wanted to. Here's a quick 4-curse build with Viper Strike/Abyssal Cry I threw together real quick. https://pastebin.com/wCrj0m31 Probably far from the best build in the world, but I didn't use GG gear in the setup so there is that. I don't have a lot of experience making poison builds though, so I'm sure someone's probably done something better than I could XD; Combat is simple.

I looked at your Templar. Level 79 looks about right with what you have. Not very much life, 10 in your helmet. You built critical strike too early which takes away all of your defense. No Mind over Matter. The character choice isn't the reason you were dying.
You can try the Witch but it will be harder. The league is ending soon as well so it's not the best time to start a new character, it will switch you over to standard before you get very far. Maybe wait for the new league before you start over? You can spend time farming up currency right now, you should still be able to clear tier 2 maps with the Templar you have. Builds
