" It is STILL gambling. You don't know which product will be inside and excess consumption is still applied to finally get what they want. You can trade them as much as you want, you gamble on what you get, it doesn't matter how it's masked. You're implying that if GGG adds a weta pet for every loot box, then it's not gambling anymore. There's no loot in those boxes. Online delenda est:

" I'm not sure if you're intentional disingenuous or you just don't understand the concept of gambling. Big part of your intentions is getting the random loot, not the weta pet. Same way how for children their main intention with that bag of chips is to get their dream Mew Two Pokemon card. Your idea implies that if a casino gives you a bottle of coke after each round, it's not gambling. I was hoping that the weta example would be ridiculous enough but it seems like it wasn't. First off: I do not like these kind of MTX'.
But: As far as I know, they DO tell you the odds for the different items available. If you know basic mathematics/probability, you know that you WILL be left with duplicates if you buy many crates. If you then decide to whine afterwards, you either a) have a problem with gambling or b) have a problem with basic mathematics. But(#2), I do think loot crate deals like these is a sleazy way of doing business. Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.

" You don't pay real money to buy cereal boxes? How have I been so stupid the whole time and paid for them. If you get a SPECIFIC amount of chips, then you're obviously not gambling but if you get a RANDOM amount of chips, you are. " Cereal prizes are a game of chance; I pay a fee for a random reward (in a nutshell). Playing in a casino is not gambling. I always get a fixed reward of a coke bottle. " money = lootbox, lootbox = / = money.. because we cant fucking refund the duplicates! " Giving them to friends or salvaging makes it less gambling? WHAT. If GGG lets you sell your stuff for 1 point each, it's not gambling anymore. Dawg, you being angry at your financial decisions, does not magically bend reality.
