While I'm happy for those who like maps... I'm so disappointed for those waiting for nonmap endgame
Maps are doing exactly what they were meant: provided a repetitive grind and acts as a currency sink.

I'm not really sure what the OP is asking for when they say "nonmap endgame". The only thing that makes maps different from non-map is that they're expendable and craftable. So in essence, all a "non-map endgame" would consist of is an endless supply of white maps being provided to every player with no limitations.
Anything short of that, and you'd have pretty much what we have already, and adding that would make existing mapping completely pointless. |

" One of the staples in online games is endless dungeon, it usually starts at a lower level than regular endgame content and slowly gains levels as you progress. So, it isn't worth doing in short runs because of the windup but it's an option when you have a bigger chunk of time to burn. Another thing that makes it different from maps is limited access to shops and stash so the experience is a bit more roguelike and here in PoE it would be especially well suited for SSF because you don't have to worry about missing any trades. Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

We're not getting a no-map endgame. Not for years, if ever.
I made a thread about the future of the endgame couple of weeks back. There ware some pretty good, even realistic ideas, check it out if you wanna: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2020954/page/1 There's also plenty of whining noobs in there. |

" Not smart enough to know the difference between No-map endgame and Non-map endgame ends insulting people Quality reply, Much valid ZiggyD is the Labyrinth of streamers, some like it, some dont, but GGG will make sure to push it down ur throat to make you like it

The endgame intimately linked to maps seems rooted so deeply that I would doubt it will ever change.
Whether GGG ADDS some endless dungeon of increasing difficulty or other suggestions you (and others) have made in the past is possible, but I expect pretty far down any TODO list. Like below Dominating Blow. Seriously. This is equivalent to asking D3 (sorry) to change their endgame from Paragon points and Greater Rifts. |

" I'm not sure if you're being facetious or not but I miss Dried Lake. I could grind there upto level 80 quite happily and roll a new character. |

Maps should be still here for end games, for sure, but we can have something else to break the monotony for a while, like bounty which games like grim dawn and Diablo 3 has with set rewards ( say certain currency) + maybe random loots, by doing quests in game world.
Say you need extra blessing orbs, then you look at bounty board and see one that reward you with Garantied 3 blessing orbs + some random loots, so you may choose to do it instead of maps which has random chance of getting the currencies you wanted. This will also greatly help sad. Last edited by KiadawP#5072 on Nov 18, 2017, 5:34:39 AM
