HC vs SC population

Whoa, whoa, whoa c'mon now people. It doesn't matter what you play. I started this thread for curiosity regarding the pop in both leagues. Not to turn it into Diablo 3's forums...

These forums are far worse than D3.

You all are pretty funny. There is no fucking difference from hardcore and default except you cant play your character any more if you die in hc. Why do all these hardcore players keep making stupid comments about default or anyone that plays in default. As if a default player is the scum on the bottom of your shoes.

Plenty of people that play default dont die, or can play just as 'safe' as hardcore players if they wanted to. If some of you hardcore guys like the thrill of losing your character on death, then thats cool, have fun. Playing default does not mean a player cant play the game with no deaths. Some , me included , like the fact you can just go see how fast a certain mob can kill you, or try out weird gear/skill combos, or basically anything that may result in a quick death, then a few minutes later, go back to playing through the game normally.

So please, someone tell me why you are better than a person who chooses to play default league???

I wouldn't say the person is better in terms of skill or anything like that.

But i feel the mind set needed to play hardcore is much different. The risk of losing a heavily invested character completely is there and that thought lingers with every action you take. For example, you can use this amazing ring with +15% attack speed and +300 accuracy and +9-65 lightning damage.. but then you have to think will it be GG no RE- if i use that instead of my +79 life ring with a some resists?

Not to say default players have those tough choices as well, but the choices are more concrete in hardcore cause the wrong choices will often lead to a permadeath. Even how you control your character is different. Sometimes when you're in the docks you have to watch the minimap so you dont run into a deadend while taking heat from Voidbears. If that happens in default you lose the exp and simply respawn, kill the voidbears and continue on. Time investment lost, sure, but not to the degree of the hardcore league.

Whatev, as long as you enjoy the league you play in. Imo, with the diversity in this game, death isn't that bad. Take old builds and optimize them better than before. Try different skill gem combinations. Etc. Try hardcore league.... play until you get that "Oh shit!" moment, and you'll be craving the thrill. Idk... take it for what it is. I have no probs with default... Play the way you like best suited for you.

When I died on my level 65-ish templar, I did a few public games in merciless on default. And it was a zerg fest. No regards of death. People would barge into the next room like it was GG all day. Nothing against that. just felt like a blind folded adventure.

And to those who are turned off by problems like desync and loading screen deaths; in hardcore you need to know your risks at all times. Type /oos every few minutes. You feel like you're about to desync to rhoas? Pop that quickflask and maintain a distance away until you feel secure. Check your latency often. If you're resetting instances constantly, make sure the instance entrance is cleared every time to prevent loading screen deaths. Meh idk who i'm trying to convince here. All i gotta say is HC and SC are basically the same, but to be successful and live a prosperous life in Wraeclast on the hardcore league, the play style and mind set are more often than not different.
They say I'm an astronaut that laughs a lot.
One thing I like about HC vs SC is that there are a lot less pay-to-win in HC. If you visit those illegal RMT sites, you'll find that most of them have nothing to sell in HC. For me, that alone makes HC worthwhile, as I despise pay-to-win.
I just wish they actually killed my character when it dies in hardcore and didnt just move it to softcore. I'd rather be dead than softcore.
It's funny to see how butthurt people get. OP was asking about population in both leagues, not which one is better.
Get over yourselves, everyone's playing the same game.
