I think its becuase your title is HC vs SC, which insinuates that were fighting or something. Also doesnt help that this is the biggest dividing feature of the community. The damage is done, and you can only hope now that it doesnt derail too much and the mods have to shut it down.

I'll be honest when I say if you don't outlevel the content playing HC you are being foolish. Why would you not outlevel it by 3-4 levels, it makes no sense?

To save time... Not everyone on HC is a mindless alt-f4 safe drone like some people seem to think they are. My most recent HC char was a good 4-5 levels below all the zones while leveling, if you know what the dangers are it isn't very important to outlevel the zone.
to race and get points you gotta learn the tricks and hardcore u tend to learn what not to do alot quicker because of ur mistakes. i play both lost my lvl 24 shadow cause i afked thinking i was safe so a zone wouldnt reset. and in races the hardcore element means u gotta have experience with hardcore and your class in order to do well or one small mistake and you can almost kiss your chances of catching up goodbye

You all are pretty funny. There is no fucking difference from hardcore and default except you cant play your character any more if you die in hc. Why do all these hardcore players keep making stupid comments about default or anyone that plays in default. As if a default player is the scum on the bottom of your shoes.

Plenty of people that play default dont die, or can play just as 'safe' as hardcore players if they wanted to. If some of you hardcore guys like the thrill of losing your character on death, then thats cool, have fun. Playing default does not mean a player cant play the game with no deaths. Some , me included , like the fact you can just go see how fast a certain mob can kill you, or try out weird gear/skill combos, or basically anything that may result in a quick death, then a few minutes later, go back to playing through the game normally.

So please, someone tell me why you are better than a person who chooses to play default league???

Agree 100%.

Agreed, and your name is win sir.
I'd be interested in the numbers as well.

FYI, I am a Hardcore only player. I've never Alt+F4'd. I used a portal once against Merveil simply because I was majorly under-leveled and needed mana as a witch (glass cannon even) and didn't want to hinder my group. I didn't die in the fight afterwards. The Portal was literally right after it started, so I barely count that. Maneuvering is everything with that kind of build. Movement Speed+ FTW.

I usually sprint through the game often either 1 level below the zone or equal to the level simply because I kill everything that I come across. Hard to sprint and kill everything, but I like glass cannon builds mixed with minor defense. I don't like to waste time either and I constitute farming as wasting time if I'm not explicitly going for something (like taking on Brutus solo or something as a witch, for example). I do do it when I need an upgrade on gear though or to add to my wealth.

The positive, to me, for Hardcore is simple. Deaths matter. And people playing slowly but enjoying the game is fine, as long as they enjoy it. That and the economy will be a "real" economy in that it can infinitely inflate like Scrubcore can. I use "scrubcore" because I consider it the "easy" mode for the game. It's where people learn about the game. Where they can experiment without consequence. Where deaths do not matter. And btw, I compare losing an hour worth of grinding experience to a week of leveling a character and I say it's nothing in comparison, and it kinda is.

And that's the important factor for me. "Consequence". If death means nothing, I have no reason to play the game. None. That's completely personal though, so I wouldn't say it's a definitive reason why scrubcore is "worse" in general if that's what people want to call it.

It's just not the game I want to play. It defeats the purpose of playing in my mind.

I play for challenge. That's part of what defines a "hardcore" player for me. The game isn't hard either way, imo. But it's more challenging when death matters. Challenge equates to more time than lack of challenge. And how much time a person is willing to play on a game is what definitively decides if they are "hardcore" to me. The only reason they should spend a ton of time on a game is if they love it. Any other reason isn't worth it for me, as a player.

TL;DR:

Hardcore only here who doesn't do anything that scrubcore players think HC players do. I play HC only because it's challenging because death matters and the economy is active.

See? This is the problem. Don't say it in such a rude way.

They are learning. Let them learn the way they want to and not treat them badly for it.
