" Im getting were you are coming from and kind of agree. At the same I have to disagree. This game is a knowledge contest. Knowledge is by far the most important "skill" for any player. So knowing how to build your character with enough passive defense (means you survive lag spikes unless you are in bossfight) is just another layer of knowledge - thats kind of gating the progression beyond lvl90. Thats means to me in conclusion, that there are 2 ways to deal with it. Curse and hate it or accept the challenge (as stupid as it might be). Leveling a character to lvl90 is pretty easy since Ascendancies are around. If its a twink and you have already the gear/maps ready to go - it might take a weekend to get there. Thats why there has to be a mechanic to slow you down a bit. And that mechanic is why most players do settle for early 90s. Something like lvl92-94 and thats it. The massive time investment in super serious and cautious leveling isnt worth a few more skillpoints for most builds. Most SC players much rather enjoy doing stupid and rippy things. It is meant to be an accomplishment that takes A LOT time and dedication - while not having the fun of doing stupid and rippy things. Im not willing to go through it and Im not a fan, but I do understand that other players might enjoy that challenge. And Im willing to let them have that challenge, even if that comes at the expense of a few skillpoints for me. " OK, I have a simple but efficient suggestion for SC league. T1-T6 - 6 portals T7-T11 - 3 portals T12-T15 - 2 portals TA-DA!!! If you play as a glasscannon, it will be a real problem to progress. For SC, in my opinion, it will be enough. |

I think the "you die you lose the map" its good enough punishment for SC ,if u want hardcore then play HC , 99% of my deaths are b3cause of lag so i get punished for something that isnt in my control...SMART design
Even better idea : make a new exp bar that is exclusive to the map you run , you conplete map the exp is added to your nirmal exp bar , you DIE you lose the map and exp , this is MORE THEN ENOUGH to punish bad plays and glass cannon And make it for completion goal boss kill and less then 50 mobs , as curent meta is clear fast skipp bosses , you skip boss u dont get map exp , good luck glass cannons , good fuxking luck ... Its funny as GGG wont ever implement something like that but they allow golem builds zerg down shaper .... Its fuxking sad actualy...
And exp penalty removes the feel of progress end game , this is why all people ibknow incudint myself hate endgame and reroll nonstop when hitting 90 ,as releveling gives you again that sense of progresion , and honestly i would play 10 times more often POE as i would have another goal to reach 100, but with current design and working 12 h a day and having 2 kids its imposible for casual players like me... I have 783 builds in my poe.planner
I played 3 of those in the last 2 years Please more 1 shot mechanics so i reduce it to 1 . Thank you. |

The exp on death penalty is a huge turn off. I like my time investment to mean something. I dont want to have to play really low tier maps just to get slow gains on the exp bar, and even doing that get a lag spike that insta kills me and rubber bands me. I dont even have a bad internet or bad computer, its just "this" game.

going past 95 show that you are not the typical zerger we encounter today. If you want to be bad with a shitty glass canon character, rolling all his map with -less player res, + 110 damage as fire + 2 proj you'll not level up !!
That's all, create a real, solid character roll your map cautiously. PoE is a game for HC gamer even softcore players have to play well and think defensively if they want to reach the max level. Go back to D3 where you can die 1 billion time without noticing anything. SC don't mean : everyone is entitled to have everything it just mean that your char is immortal and that's enough don't you think so ? ... nothing

" You clearly not play3d "end game " enough ,there is literly not 1 build existent that is tanky enough to not die 1 shot to stupid damage spikes this game has,and 100% you have no idea how people get lvl 100 in this game : they run tier 11 maps without the retarded minus max double damage (thus shit is worse the D3 dificulty tiers , giving mobs double hp damage isnt making game harder it just makes it RETARDED) They run easy mods as hard mods have nothing to do with exp gain. Even runing tier 1 maps ita more efficient then this nonexistent "end game" tier 15 maps uber shaper etc. And curent system is damn BAD it has zero punishment on glass cannon or zerg builds. You know what people do ?get defenses level to lvl 90-95 safetly then go full glass cannon and go farm shaper as losing 10%exp makes no diference as they have 6 portals and zerg bosses down...google imortall golen build it literly about reaching map bosses and die while your minions finish the job..nice punishment you have in your opinion ... The exp loss is so putdated and it doesnt punish glass connons at all in SC , thats why economy its fucked in 1 week in new leagues as any glass cannon can do you beloved endgame... My sugestion die lose map exp and map would make SC build around defenses exactly as HC ...but again what i know right... I have 783 builds in my poe.planner

Reach 98 was hard enough without league stuff, rotation. Just soloing or duoing, doing T10/15 mostly blue pack size, one damage mod. So I know that's hard and un rewarding, but high level in PoE mean that you have understood the game (or have infinite time/friends) and where comes the damage spikes.
It means that you'll not reach higher levels if you play recklessly and that's a good thing because it means something to reach level 100. It's not a MMORPG where max level means the real game begin. 1 level is just 1 passive point and level 100 is just for "bragging right"... The vison of the game in closed beta was a lot more HC in spirit. The SC is already enough soft, more softness and it'll be no more Path of Exile. ... nothing
