Can we remove this terrible xp loss on death
Just do not see how this adds fun to the game. In end game maps the loss of the portal is enough frustration. Why do we need to lose xp when we die? It is tedious enough maps are rng based drops and how near impossible it is to level a hero to 100.

If the game wouldnt enforce that, everyone would go for max dmg and never care about defenses in SC, which would result in a even greater gap between HC and SC in terms of dmg output and thus creating even more trouble for GGG to create challenging but doable content for both: SC and HC without the need of having 2 different balancing agendas in place. Like it or not. If you ever want to lvl past lvl95, you better play with a HC mindset in SC or you deal with the xp loss every now and then. |

u rly like die to lags/desync/other shit and lose days of progression? thats fucking masockhism. not surprised 80% of my fl already quit, coz leveling 1 char to 90 per week, than hit wall of frustration - repeat. thats isnt fun at all. every death is like fuck you. every death is altf4 and maybe comeback next day. or never comeback like lots of ppl did.

Why is getting to level 100 so important to you? It is supposed to be a harrowing grind that makes you want to break you keyboard. Seems like it's working as intended.

I dislike the 10% penalty but do see the merit to having it.
I also understand the frustration of hitting the wall of progression. For me it usually sets in around 90 and is a complete wall by 94. I would like to see some mechanic added to regain the xp lost quicker, Such as killing an exile to gain % of lost exp back. or giving the boss the xp for the amount lost. Heck it could even corrupt the boss and encourage players to seek help/co op. Or doing both with each having a percent of the xp. Other possibility would be to put a max limit on xp lost per level at say 100% cumulatively lost , essentially having to level twice at max for any given level. But the 10% loss with no way to regain it is a rather outdated practice. |

" Getting to max level gives a sense of completion. Some people need to see things finished or they get frustrated and feel cheated. Having a game where reaching max level is easy is great, as than the developer can make end game content based on a max level. a game that did this well was Guild Wars 2. Max level is just the beginning of the end game. Imagine what new content could be added to POE with a max level achievable by all and content to match the fact that you are expected to be max level. With the new pantheon tree, you could still add more and more to branch out characters. I pose the question back to you, Why is it soo important to you that 100 be a huge grind ? |

" The penalty gets tougher each level, but you're also turning more and more into an immortal god once you took all your offensive nodes at around lvl 85. Just don't run content that is too scary... Reroll your maps into something that you can beat without too much issues, and grind, grind, grind. (Ab)using beachhead maps certainly helps. So much XP with so little risk of death. At 94, I still got ~6% xp out of every t15 beachhead. Guess this drops a bit by 95, but I don't really need any more levels. 3.5 build: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2299519
