Path of Exile is now live on Xbox One!

so, have we worked out a way to aim, or is the entire game going to rely on auto-targetting? How will things like movement skills and totems work?
Good job GGG! You're a awesome company... Will you launch it in Ps4 in the future?

very unlikely. while the xbox1 basically is a low end pc with some customised graphics card, the ps4 has a different architecture and code isn't easily migrated for this platform.

THIS! see the XBOX like he said is essentially a small PC, where as the PS4 has a closed architecture proprietary to Sony alone. This is why their exclusives almost never come to XBOX. It's a good system but very closed off to most devs. Chances of getting it from a small studio like GGG are like ,well I will put it this way, you will soon have Kate Upton roofie your drink and sit on your face then POE coming to Sony.

So there's a chance.

Does the xbox and pc have cross play?
Also does the xbox save characters on the local machine like diablo does? I really hope that is not the case because cheating killed diablo on the consoles.

there is no cross play, it's all separated, accounts and game servers.

poe doesn't store anything game relevant locally. it's all stored server side.

the xbox client basically is the same as the pc client, just with a different user interface. even ggg claimed the code changes outside the ui stuff were minimal.

no.

there are frameworks where you can code multi-platform but imo the poe client wasn't designed with such a software, it's c++ with directX. the ps4 has no directX, so ggg would need to redesign all effects from scratch with the ps4 api.

Why was not there information that the game would only be available in some regions of the world? Im from poland and can not play because the game needs updating. I uninstalled 2 times and installed, nothing gives. On the page is information -> What countries is Path of Exile enabled on the Xbox One?
Everywhere apart from South Korea, China and Japan. There may be small delays with Brazil, Australia and New Zealand - we have received the certificate of age rating for these regions and are trying to get them processed quickly. We expect to add Japan as a region over the coming weeks.
This is a joke ?!

They don´t need to redesign any effects, nor do they need to completely rework their client. The Ps4 has two API´s, a low level GNM and a high level GNMX. Latter is very similar to direct x 11.

The SDK is also very close to C++. Sony did these things, to make ports easier and to give Developers a known work environment.

Sony demands a Playstation Plus account to play video games, which might explain why GGG did not port there.
If GGG ever ports, then it would still be advisable to go for the low level API, as the high level DX11 based one, just won´t cut it with the graphic intense game that POE is.
