Rural America is in a bad shape.
" Story goes on about drug use and mother of 5 at 25 (single OFC) - deadbeats poor life choices It's a dog eat dog world last thing you need is drugs and shit to lower your marketabilty. Way I see it you got 20-30 good working years looking at my dad whos knees (he was a lineman for electric company) are shot eyes cant see up close and stuff. Make best of it clean smart choices and save to which Albert Einstein declared compound interest to be 'the most powerful force in the universe' so you can be happy and do what you want later. " We have some pay in full some pay none and everything in between. Basically concept everyone should be in school depending how rich parents are is what you pay. Thats ok more work for me. My theory is you do opposite what everyone else is doing. Like if stock market crash you buy. Plus I have other entrepreneurial ambitions. I was "home schooled" in business. Git R Dun! " China will have same issues one day as they get richer. Then all they make now will move to africa or back to usa lol. The cost of Chinese labor is already getting higher than Mexico. Git R Dun!

" I home schooled myself in everything I'm doing now (IT stuff). Going to the university was a waste for me (just a waste of time, since it was free here in EU socialism). I have friends who barely finished middle school (or "high school", whatever, from 14 - 18 yo) and have businesses now. High education is overrated. STEM / IT is the only high edu. that will give you some bang for your buck, but only if you actually worked to get it, and not though some "positive discrimination" governmental handouts. And with the Internet you can self teach for very cheap a ton of useful skills nowadays. When night falls

" Sound like a strategy. Cut off all their entitlements and force them back to work. WORK OR DIE. |
|
You can't expect the government to take care of you. You need to take 100% responsibility for your life, no matter who's president or in what shape the market is right now. Adapt or die.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

" Do you realize that someone has to work for those entitlements in any case? If you are concerned for the "poor guy" on welfare, you should also be concerned for the "poor guy" that will have his taxes raised to sustain the former. Living on other people's labor should not be a valid long term lifestyle. You either have a big welfare system, but limit the population (limits on # of kids & immigration), or you have 'unlimited' population, but limited or no welfare. If you try to have both, you inevitably end up with a typical socialist failed state, which always sucks dry the people who produce, to feed those who don't. When night falls

" We didn't think of it that way. People pay the government and the government pay for us. It isn't welfare, we are entitled to our entitlements. We pay for it. Unemployed are the minority and Welfare is temporary with requirement and limitation. It is more like insurance. You don't get shit out of it by not getting sick or injured. It safeguard against major cost and risk. You get more out of the system by breaking a leg, but you don't hope to ever use it. You don't hope to lose your job either. |

" I've heard they are already changing their economy to rely on services instead of manufacturing. I didn't read everything, but here's an article that has such headline: http://www.businessinsider.com/chinas-economy-is-changing-2015-9 |
