"AFK" sellers
Thanks to all those people whom have cheap items for sale, but do not even bother to reply. I know you get our messages as no AFK reply even comes. You are true exiles. You realize you can disable your sales tabs that you just do not bother with anymore, or enable them when you feel like selling. It remembers the prices you have set, amazing!
I try to take high road and be an example. Someone wants to buy an item for 1c in another league than I'm currently logged into. I whisper saying that I'll be switching over and to hang on 10 seconds, and I'll make the trade. Sometimes, I have to say that they need to wait until I finish the map since I need to open it for Atlas. Surprisingly everyone so far has waited even for 1-2c trades. Maybe no one else is really bothering. So, win for me I guess. It's a pain admittedly, but since I have listed items for sale, I feel obligated to make the sale. You know, treat others as yourself would like to be treated. I just had a thought, maybe botting is just really rampant, and reason why people don't reply to whispers. P.S. I'm sure there are cases where someone has just gone AFK, or just fails to see the whisper etc. but the amount of cold shoulder I get and talking with friends, some of these "sellers" are real pieces of work. Some people are shop keepers. Some people are just looking to make a sale. Takes all kinds.

We need all sellers to continue to keep their selling tabs active. We must continue to boycott mtx purchases to get GGG to fix this broken worthless excuse of a trade function. Only with enough outcrys from all exiles will we get an asynchronous trade function.

One has to wonder why a simple modification to the current method of using 3rd party trade sites by adding a simple Code/TAG number so that we may use it in-game via the waypoint map to gain access to a sellers hideout and "for sale" stash has been ignored by GGG forever. Certainly all GGG devs know that majority of players hate trade chat and "seller is AFK" or dead silence from our whispers. GGG certainly has to know that a large segment of arpg players were PoE players that finally got fed up enough with shitty drops (done on purpose to actively encourage trading) and attempts to buy gear bullshit and perma quit PoE. GGG certainly must know yet to-date has not replaced trade chat.

" for offline trading they would have to shut down item indexing otherwise trade would be fully automatised in notime. age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

" Well, GGG always says publicly that bots are not a problem and that keeping all calculations on the server simulation side of PoE that there is nothing in our client PoE that can be hacked to "game" the system. If that is just bs and bots are a "real and present danger" to the PoE economy then that is sad. The whole reason we put up with game lag is that the server game simulation is doing all the calculations and are overloaded. All this because GGG says that by doing this we can keep the cheaters and bots out. If that is just so much bs smoke screen and the PoE economy is in danger of sinking from botters then GGG has failed just like every other arpg (D3 economy being the most wrecked by bots). Look, no one can completely code out all bots from their games so the question then becomes to what magnitude of lower QoL are we players willing to put up with in order to keep those few that want to cheat out of PoE. Apparently millions have quit PoE over the combination of sucky endgame drops (gear progression stops in order to encourage trading) coupled with a broken trade function (wasting too much time to find a seller on-line and willing to stop and trade). I should think GGG would not want to have lost that much mtx just to placate the few that have the time and desire to play 24/7 (the so-called purists who say trade chat is good right now). To me it's worth a few cheaters who want to spend endless hours coding clever hack bots to scam the PoE economy just for a few more exalts. A good effect of being able to buy items without having to hunt down the seller is that there would be much less frustration and many would avoid going the RMT route so these illegal 3rd party sellers wouldn't get as much business. The times of "fuck this seller is AFK shit, I'll just pay a few bucks and buy the damn item. It ain't worth the aggravation" would be eliminated. " automatisation is not always botting. some months ago a guy made a small python script that could be configured to parse the trade api stream, look for certain item types, compare their buyouts with the average price on poe.ninja and update a list of sale recommendations. perfectly legal and all that prevented malicious folks to fully exploit that tech was the crappy item exchange procedure. there needs to be some social interaction when exchanging items as a last resort to prevent people feeling powerless against those tech savy insiders and like idiots by playing the game the common way. in the extreme, trading needs to be as ineffective to get your items as playing the game is so neither side is the preferable way to "get rich". trade should allow the average player to buy up to 5 to 10 items and the average seller to sell up to 10 items. nothing more. the current system allows for that. age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

Low price (top listing) items with sellers AFK or just ignoring you: they're most likely market manipulators. They list items lower than market value to encourage market noobs to list the same items lower, in which case they swoop in to buy them, then relist at the real value.
Scroll down to find the real prices of those items instead. Usually you'll see a gap between the real value and these market manipulation listings. This doesn't happen all the time, just on some items in which these people want to corner the market. Bonus: if you watch these as they do, you might beat them to buying up an item recently listed at this new, manipulated price. Poe.trade updates at intervals, so watch for that. ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄ ▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒░░░░░░░░░░░░░ cipher_nemo ░░░░░░░░░░░░░▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒ ▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀ Last edited by cipher_nemo#6436 on May 10, 2017, 11:59:56 AM

" Well now, you and GGG can take that stance. Just don't be surprised that I will continue to boycott all mtx and urge all others to do so who hate current trade chat crap. But GGG is being bipolar: They think if they halt gear progression by level 70ish then most endgame gear to complete and/or strengthen a build will need to be traded for and that's ok. But then GGG goes opposite end and makes trading so frustrating and time consuming to do it's no wonder there are many RMT sites. And if I had an exalt for every other post about how awful trade chat is I'd have 100s of them now. I have to say it is a damn shame that a few who are without any morality and will cheat are ruining PoE trade relations for the majority of players who don't cheat. So in your view if even 1 single player out of millions uses a bot or some kind of elaborate script to automate going to a hideout and buying an item then it warrants making PoE trading a headache/pain in the ass to do then that is ok with you. I guess the many who play SSF out of trade frustration are all wrong in their view that PoE needs asynchronous trade. Hey at least I'm not in favor of a full blown auction house that many think is ok. "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."
