[3.1] The Laserbeam! Crit Ball Lightning build - Clearspeed & Bosskills!

Hey there,

it is possible to go with Pledge. The biggest downside is that you cant use Whirling Blades nor Shield Charge. With some crazy cast speed Lightning Warp can be pretty solid tho.

Use LMP as "7th gem" for clearspeed and inc AOE for single target damage.

Controlled Destruction is not that good on a crit relying build (specialy on a Choir of Storm one). A diamond flask can help in lower levels, once you stacked enough lightning res you will barely need it at all (again, Choir of Storm).

ah, ok!

was wondering about the controlled destruction bc a lot of crit builds still use it (i.e. fireball and such) and it (at least on the tooltip) boosts the dps.

but i thought we are using elemental focus for single target and inc AoE for maps?

also whats the reason inc crit dmg is better than elemental focus in the 6-link u are using with inc AoE? is shocking that important or am i missing something? (sorry for the newbie questions :D)

Ball Lightning wont apply shock to enemys with big lifepools as easy, because the single hits are rather low. As the skill wont shock against endbosses, we can use Elemental Focus for additional 49% more dmg in our single target setup.

While clearing maps, the lifepools are lower and BL can apply shock without EF tho.

Inc AOE will provide higher damage outcomes aswell, the reason for that is like most of the stuff i answered to you, already in the build guide. Maybe you should just check out this video:

yes, i got it with inc aoe. im just confused since in your guide u say we swap out inc aoe for elemental focus in bossfights (single target) but now u are saaying that inc aoe is used for single target...maybe im just missing something :D

Since you are using Pledge you can drop Spell Echo. The setup to go is the old single target
(BL - Spell Echo - Elemental Focus - Inc Crit Strikes - Inc Crit Damage - Slower Proj.)
without Spell Echo and inc AOE instead. Elemental Focus is in the setup aswell. Both will affect damage massiv.

ah! ok, but i got already a dagger+shield+6 link chest, haha. i jsut dont see how inc crit dmg is better than controlled destruction/ele focus
In that case you dont understand this build at all, the concept is "crit as much as you can anyhow". CD let you crit less, ele focus is in the setup. Just read the build guide slow and proper, im sure you'll get it.

The concept is to crit enemy as often as possible, with extremely slow Ball Lightning projectiles and Orb of Storms. In combination with the Choir of the Storms amulet, this results in huge DPS.

ok, i think i got my mistake....but i have another noobquestion: u said that u added a CwS setup because a lot of ppl were complaininga about stuns.....how does nova/tempest shield help against stun? is it because it basicly kills the mobs around u when u get stunned? i never played with it its funny tho :)

Shock Nova got crazy high base damage. Hit's resulted by that skill will most likely stun your enemys tho (if they dont kill them right away).

Tempest Shield increases your blockchance in the first place, but also provides a little bit of damage.

Both skills can crit aswell and trigger your Choir of the Storms.

Whatever stuns you will have a hard time with that setup. I won a lot of PVP duell's only standing around and waiting for my enemy to stun me :P
