You cannot possibly know whether gender dysphoria is something so terrible that we are better off switching the sex over unless you suffer from it too. I always use this example-Some of my friends who have never gotten fever before actually blame people down with fever for being weak for laying in bed. Ridiculous right? Until they get their first fever in later age... Again. How do you even know?? |

Alright, actually this relates to two points I brought up before in my personal thread on gender dysphoria. Seeing that you are quite inquisitive about this and quite reasonable I shall mention them again just for you. Of course I hope this discussion does not sidetrack into my own post too much as it belongs to Koylaboo after all.
1) There are indeed a lot of fake transgenders out there who pretend to be transgender just because they are heartbroken over rejections and other misguidance. These people almost certainly suicide. There was a famous case in China whereby one of the first transgender person to undergo operation was in fact gay but not transgender. He did so just so that the Chinese government would allow him marry another male. He did eventually suicide. Right now we really do not have the technology to tell transgender people apart from posers other than some personality tests that can still fail. Only the transgender person knows since you cannot possibly lie to yourself. The statistics we have might have included fake transgender people naturally... There are a lot of fake transgenders I tell you. Some of them even do so just to take advantage of me... 2) The very first person to have undergone sexual reassignment surgery in China actually publicly stated the only condition that would stop her from doing so. (Not the same person as the one in point 1) but they did the operation together) That condition: If her parents disapproved. In fact most other transgender people I have met, including myself of course, state that we would not consider SRS if our parents disapprove. I understand jolly well that I still own copyright and birthright to my parents for what they did for me. They will be my ultimate authority on whether I can go for SRS or not. Why? Because they love me and I love them. |
