I wouldn't say irrelevant when you're a completitionist.
Hell I'm far from that but I WANT a full Atlas eventually.

isnt it better to not complete the atlas so you dont contest your preferred map drops (shaped maps) and actually unlock only single maps of a particular tier (again, mostly shaped maps)?

this way you would have atlas completed around 75%, but always get the best possible maps.

I'd still complete as much from the Atlas as possible to get the maximum amount of bonus chance (it really helps) . I'm currently sitting at 126/126 and around 50% of the map drops are 1 tier higher from where they drop (all a matter of RNG of course) .
Basically higher Atlas completion simply helps on sustaining higher-tier maps which in return saves you currency so in the long run you'll benefit from it.

i cant search youtube atm, cause im at work, but i really think you should check out some of the atlas guides, and how to maximize atlas gains. getting ONLY preffered shaped maps over some shit maps (or maps that dont fit your build), i believe is far superior to atlas completion.

I have checked out Ziggy's & Norses etc. Atlas guides and how map drops work combined with Shaped maps/uncompleted ones, and i still stick on my opinion that higher atlas completion benefits you more in the long run. Also for the sake of mind, higher Atlas completion adds variety to mapping to keep it fresh so there is that too.
But i'm not denying that only doing the desired ones like Shaped Strand/Core/OGR the most expensive ones etc to make them drop being profitable aswell.

i agree on the variety part, doing same maps over and over is boring. also, i love to complete collections, so im kinda torn on how to deal with atlas atm. that and stash bullshit is some of the main reasons i dont play atm.

This map isn't expensive because of the experience bonus, you have to run maps perandus modded (4c each) and be very lucky to encounter cadiro and sell it to you for 2500 coins I think.

I think I collected 30k coins since the last time I had that happen.

Ohhhh, no, no, no, no. Getting it on a map is not enough, friend.

Fucking servers also have to work. And for some reason this still happens, in 2017, in a game where such random encounters can be life or death for your character (in terms of it's RNG).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQ9znQ-XAD0&feature=youtu.be

Because if you can have a game which is based on trade with trade system as bad as the one we have, you can have loot based game in which servers randomly eats your currency and other wealth.
Because who needs any kind of back-up or protection in case of situations like these? SIGH.

Still waiting for proof that private indexers are somehow better and faster than the poe.trade one. I've been asking for over a year now, nobody delivers.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

You could easily test this for yourself - set up a live search for an expensive item you have, drop it in your 1c tab and check if there's a difference between the first whispers you get for it and it showing up on your live search.
Its extremely rare and only drops in a Zana modded map. Think about it!

That and aliens. The government is in on it too, but they are only puppets on a string. A means to an end.

Let me be clear about this since the other replies are dancing around it. It's not expensive just because it's a good map. It's mostly because it's almost impossible to get one. It can only be obtained from Cadiro, so you have to have Zana 7, be constantly adding Perandus to your maps (at a cost of 4c per map) and then luck out and have Cadiro sell you one. Very few people playing even have the chance to get one, never mind actually doing so.

I'm guessing you can also take a bunch of Chateau maps into a map with the Zana Perandus mod and scour/chance them. At 15ex each, it should be worth it.

Nope. Can't be chanced.
