My thoughts are that most countries out of the Soviet Block and Eastern Europe have pretty decent standards and people can live quite well without working their asses off 6 days a week. In Bulgaria for example the minimum wage is 210 Euro and the minimum pension is around 80 euro (max being around 500euro). So it's quite hardcore league here. :)

min wage is 210 euro? wtf. if i got 210$ Canadian an hour, id be a millionaire

That's per month. Can confirm, I'm Bulgarian too. All of my grandparents are alive and if we weren't a large family and didn't help them, it would be unclear how they would be able to physically survive on their pensions.

Self employed. Started a business recently. Wish me luck, it's kinda hard to start from scratch in socialist crapholes (the GOV wants to gut you ASAP and as much as possible, to fill in the leaking welfare holes & pay its army of undead bureaucrats)

Well talk about numbers next year :P

Good luck bro. Speaking from experience from another corrupt craphole, it would be wise to build an alliance with some of the undead bureaucrats :D

Yes, it's not like people have revealed much more personal stuff in offtopic :P

Thanks. The governmental Belly of the Beast is usually inhabitated by ilvl 45+ tittybitches. Not sure how to befriend those, but if you cleared The Harvest a few times in PoE, you already know how to backtrack from office to office, collecting "organs" to meet the final boss...

Then you get in Cruel and the gov takes away 20% of your resistances. And another progressive taxation in Merc at 60%. It's actually scary how PoE resembels RL :D

Well, it usually requires a combination of bribes and/or pressure. Depends on the situation, really. Anyway, you shouldn't focus on the tittybitches, look for the endboss. You know the key to wealth in PoE is market manipulation or endgame content farming.

About the comparisons to real life - I don't think it's strange at all. All games have resemblances to certain aspects of real life. This is the reason games are interesting in the first place.

I'm not surprised; I ask people this all the time and it's very rare that I get a nasty comment or an out and out refusal to answer. I think most would be surprised.

In my line of work (financial services) you get over fear of asking about $$ real fast or you get nowhere. Notice the person that started topic is a planner. I'm in sales and make a varied income (40-65K). One of the reasons I hate Obamacare btw and I know OT is they want you to somehow magically predict what you will make next year.
Censored.
I'm disabled. I'm bipolar and suffer from psychosis. I had such a strong case that I didn't even need to go to court for a hearing. No lie.

Outside of that, I'm a multi-skilled individual. Sorta a jack of all trades. I can weld, do carpentry, plumbing, electrical, mechanical work. As well as solder electronics, and work on PCs. My cooking skills are above average as well.

I've worked as a welder/fabricator, maintenance technician in a factory, building maintenance on apartments, construction labor/demolition/remodeling, apprentice machinist, HVAC tech helper, Plumbing helper, and a bunch of other stuff. My problem is keeping long term employment. FYI, I still do some minor jobs on the side. I have quite a bit of tools I've bought over the years to do the above types of jobs. Somewhere in excess of $5000 worth of tools.

Last little job I did, a neighbor wanted me to chop some trees/limbs up. I was in a good mood that day. Told my neighbor - deforestation? Woot! I can come over and do that right now if you want. Made $200 for maybe 4 hours of work. Tree service company wanted to charge him $600. I was a maniac with a chainsaw, and a normal human would have probably taken a full 8-12 hours to get that done. That's part of the thing with being bipolar, is I'll have those super productive days and then I'll have those days where I don't even feel like getting up out of bed.
