Storm Chaser

Move while lightning surrounds you, periodically hitting everything around. Area of the storm increases by 10% for every second channelled, up to a maximum of 50%. Monsters do not block movement while channelling. Movement speed penalty of 50% while channelling.
Chaos Swarm(channeling, projectile, physical, fire, cold, lightning, chaos, spell)

Gem color: Black(black gems are relatively powerful skills that require having good stat distribution across the board as well as a white socket to use)

level 1 gem requires character level 38 to use. DROP ONLY.

base cast speed:0.50 cast time

mana cost: 50(lvl 1) to 90(lvl 20)

Fires one projectile.

Quality: increased damage by 1% for every 1% quality
increased cast speed by 0.5% for every 1% quality

Description:
summon a black orb in front of the caster that unleashes relentless homing chaotic projectile in that deal a "random damage type" per hit when channeled. The number of chaotic bolts that fires is determined by cast speed per second and the number of projectiles fired at a time. the projectiles fires and travels at any random direction until the projectile itself reaches close proximity towards a monster. for every projectile fired, the gem gains a charge which grows in power but so does the cost "The gem must fit into a white socket to use".

support gems compatible with gem:
pretty much almost everything. except those limited by the gems channeling capabilities

With a gem this powerful, its necessary to have the gem restricted be usable on either a tabula rasa or a lucky corrupted white socket on gear with a correct set of support gems to make it reach its peak performance.

mana leech and a very high mana pool with regen could help alleviate the mana hungry cost.

I think i may have overdone it with the thought proccess of the gem i came up with but damn. imagine how redculously powerfull it can achieve if done right.

Conjure Tornado - int - AoE, Cold, Duration, Spell - crit 5% - q increases Cold Damage by x%.

Channels to build up a large twister which is released after you stop using the skill. The longer you channel, the longer it lasts, the more damage it deals and the larger its AoE.

Basically, you charge up a Tornado, release it, it attacks across the battlefield randomly for +damage/duration/AoE proportionate to how long you channeled. Cast speed will stage your tornado up more quickly.

METEOR SHOWER
Spell, Channel, Fire, Area, Duration

Cast and hold to channel. Conjures a barrage of delayed meteor strikes. Meteors fall from the sky to impact on the ground, dealing immediate damage and exploding to leave burning ground for a duration afterward, damaging enemies who remain.

Channel duration increases:
Amount of meteors summoned.
Reduction in delay between meteor strikes.
Radius where meteors may strike.
Meteor impact radius.
Burning ground duration.
Mana cost.

Inspired by: MedianXL, Firestorm, Fire Trap and a suspicious lack of skills that leave burning ground.

Biggest issue I see for channeled skills is mobility so why not combine the two?

gaining xyz area lightning damage and move speed when sprint ends for xyz seconds
