Endgame drops are ridiculously fucked up!

Ok, I'm salty as fuck right now and I'm still unable to express how disgusting these endgame map drops are. Ok, first of all before some moth*pieeep* son of a *pieeeep* that was mol*pieeeeeep a bunch of redneck r*pieeeep* starts telling this "Did you roll your maps well enough?" bullshit - YES I DO!
In fact I don't give a shit about the mods because no matter what at least one of my chars is always capable of running the map. Therefore I run my higher maps chiseled, rare & corrupted.

And I have a >100 altlas bonus aswell so please forgive me that I'm salty as fuck if all I get in return is a level 10 and a level 5 map. Fuck this shit! I even don't mind running these corrupted maps when they end up "unidentified". But when I do a corrupted & unidentified palace map with elemental weakness and Dom drops a Limpsplit I'm having a hard time not smashing my screen.

Seriously, this is the only game I know where you were punished for playing. I can life with the fact that I'll never play some maps because they are just zu valuable to run them myself but it's completely bullshit when it is (currency wise) almost always better to just sell the maps, chisels, chaos orbs and vaal orbs than to run the maps.

That whole concept of punishing players for playing the game is beyond stupid. Fuck this ret*pieeeep* "reward"-system of ass*pieeep* created by people that have obviously completely lost the connection to their own game long ago!

I believe that it is ok buying gear for your char but to be forced to buy content? That is.... wrong for me(for lack of a better word). That shows that something is wrong within a game.
One shouldnt be gated from playing content (high lvl maps that is) from RNG. They expect us to trade for maps but I really, really hate buying maps man:(

That and the fact that they keep nerfing exp gain... I mean, what's up with that?!:(
Dont't they understand that the only ones being affected by that are not the players who can lvl to lvl 100 within 2 weeks of a start of a league but everyone else?
Nowadays, you are forced to play in parties after a certain lvl if u want to have a progression in your exp bar that doesnt resemble that of a..... turtle?(something very very slow I mean:) )

And I don't like it when the game forces to play in a way that I dont want to.
When the game forces you to re-think your strategy for a certain boss that's fine, that is good, you adapt/change and you become better at the game but! if the game is forcing you to change your style, your basic playstyle (which in this example, is me, who prefers playing solo and doesn't like buying content) then, as you said, I feel like I'm being punished....:(((

I lvl'ed 1 toon to 100 and that was before the latest nerf to exp (above lvl 95).
The map drops sucked (big time, I mostly lvl'ed doing t11's lol) and the exp gain curve was.... painfull:) :( Especially since I was doing it solo.
(Note: I cracked at the last 30% and partied with a very good friend of mine who supported me during my long road to 100)

I cannot even begin to imagine what it will feel like now, with the recent exp nerfs:(
I don't know why they (GGG) make these decisions regarding map drops and exp gain.
For me it had the result of playing much less hrs now, than what I did for example 5 months ago and logging in fewer times.
Were the journey to lvl 100 not so.... masochistic for a solo player then I would try to do that with even more chars of mine (and not quit the game earlier as many? believe) but as it stands now........ no:):(


Anyways, those were a few things I wanted to share with you that I really dont like about the game in its current state. I really like it, as a game and I supported it as best as I could (given my current financial status). I hope they balance these things better in the future (for solo playing and gating content behind RNG) but given the changes in every new patch that comes, I've lost hope:)

Thats new type of DLC, when you buy a game and then need to buy 999+ DLC to play it normally.

I feel you man. Just ran a 162% IIQ 43% pack size Gorge (T13). The only map that dropped was a T12 Residence - from a chest.

Also you have to indulge in the trade madness if you want to actually be able to roll your maps in the first place. No way you get enough Vaal orbs otherwise.

EDIT: The boss dropped a Dreadarc Cleaver though.
Remove Horticrafting station storage limit.

The other day I ran a Minotaur map with some %magic packs, 89% IIQ and 28% pack size. I added Torment and cleared trash with the Item Rarity gem. The magic packs touched by the spirits dropped 3 T16 maps and a bunch of other maps of random tiers, plus a boat load of high lv rares and several junk uniques.

That's where all your drops are. I stole them.

Yep, the permanent lack of self found vaal orbs is another pain in the ass!

The 150+%, triple packsize rippy maps are more often than not a disappointment. If I get some lucky rolls or nice corrupt, then ill run it, sure. But I've stopped chaos spamming maps into "perfection" a long time ago.

The variance of results is just too huge and the invisible base drop roll (aka "seed") is still more important than the % rolled by the player. The lack of map drops from those rippy maps, is then offset by some easy Alc & go dropping several +1, which feels stupid as always, but meh... I've stopped caring about this somewhere betweeen PoE 1.0 & 1.3

It wont change as long as endgame mapping is primarily designed as a currency sink and RNG progression is an almost exclusive tool in GGG's toolbox.

Forum post is a good way to vent, but nothing speaks louder than lost player retention. Take a break/stop playing will let GGG know you don't like what they have done. If player retention drops enough, they'll rebalance. They've already buffed item and map drops several times before.

If you'd still rather play, then maybe your frustration isn't that bad, or your addiction to the game is stronger than your frustration. If that's the case, then GGG's drop balance must be working since you're still playing.
