Hey OP, nice build currently testing it out in standard. Couple questions.

1. How do you feel this variation compares to the cyclone/discharge version?

2. Have you come up with any optimal spell pairings to socket in Cospri's? I've tried a lot of different styles but I have a hard time telling what is optimal. Currently I'm dual-wielding so I have Freeze Pulse-Crit Strikes-Crit dmg and in my other one I have Arctic Breath-GMP-Cold Pen.

My Gear

1. It doesn't its a completely different build. It's like comparing it to BV pathfinder.

2. If you want to completely min-max and be as optimal as possible you use 1 spell in each cospris. It's not as fun but it will work. Something like

Coldpen-Arcticbreath-(Inc Crit / Gmp(not if u have dying sun) / crit dmg / controlled destr.)
Coldpen-FreezingPulse-(Inc Crit / Gmp(not if u have dying sun) / crit dmg / controlled destr.)

Dual cospris is well and good, but for it to be more effective than single cospris you'll need an attack speed on lacerate below 0.10 sec. Or should i say more than 10 attacks per second. This all assumes you are using 2 spells per cospris.

Anything higher than that and you should do much more damage using the two highest damage spells (freezepulse and arctic breath) and a high spelldamage offhand like Doryani's Catalyst.

If dualwielding you can scale attack speed up to 0.05 before you overcap. Or 20 attacks a second. This is ofcourse assuming you are using lacerate thus hitting twice for a total of 40 attacks a second.

To even come remotely close to this you should use something like.

And if you are using a pair of gloves like that you HAVE to be assassin. Templar, Berserker, Deadeye, Elementalist, ALL fall short to Assassin when using cospris lacerate cause of those gloves.

Crit gloves are all well and good, but attack speed is the number 1 stat by far on cospris.

Cospri's are pretty expensive, and if you need to hit that APS threshold, for me at least I think 1 Cospri's and 1 Doryani (3c) is a more viable option.

Your gem links in both would be FP+AB+Cold pen?

I think a variety of spells will be overall most effective, but im still testing.

atm im using freezepulse + AB + cold pen / ice spear + frostbolt + cold pen with 12'ish attacks / sec.

This doesn't matter, 3 spells 1 spell, it's all the same. the 0.1cd on cospris is local to the weapon meaning that 3 spells will just rotate turns on the 0.1 clock while 1 will be used every time.

The gloves aren't worth the loss of 2 links when it comes to clearing maps, when fighting bosses.. sure, if that's what you want to do.

With 0.1 attack speed you hit the boss 20 times per sec so if you have only 1 spell in cospris you will only cast spells at half effectiveness cause of the 0.1 internal cooldown on cospris. With 2 spells you have 100% effectiveness and with 3 spells you cast them at 67% effectiveness. Thats why i used 2 spells and 0.1 attack speed in my example, also since you used that in your build. So attack speed and number of spells slotted matters alot.

You can clear maps super easy almost no matter how you use a cospris. What matters is maxing dps for bosskilling. Thats where different builds will pull ahead or lag behind.

If mapclearing is your priority tho you should still use the gloves, only with whirling blades instead.
They will improve your clearspeed by 20% since cospris builds instakills packs.

So my main point still stands, Assassin is far superior to any other class since they dont have to use the crit gloves.

Have you looked at my gear? It's what I am doing. I don't see your point besides that.

I'm asking a simple question, surely having written guides on both you are in the position to let us know how they compare in terms of clear speed, gearing cost, boss killing etc. Saying it doesn't compare helps me with nothing man.

Seems to me the most efficient way to build this is to use Whirling Blades for map clearing, and then just switch to a cyclone gem when you get to the boss.

6L Armor: Whirling Blades (or) Cyclone / Cast on Crit / Faster Attacks / Increased Crit Strikes / Vortex / Ice Nova

3L Cospri's: Arctic Breath / Cold Penetration / GMP

3L Cospri's: Frost Bolt / Cold Penetration / GMP

Uhh how does a lacerate build compare to a discharge build? Uhh well depends what you enjoy playing I guess? They are equally expensive, both the builds fill a niche void and they are completely different playstyles with different gear. Boss killing and clearspeed discharge wins in terms of efficiency if that's what you're looking for.
