" Look at Frenzy Charge instead of Frenzy Skill. We get 4% attack speed 4% more damage per charge. http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Frenzy_charge |

This build looks really fun to play! Thank you for putting it together.
A question... How well would a Taming/Emberwake setup work with this build? |
|
" Well honestly the merit is only in the writing. There is nothing original and unique in this build. Taming/Emberwake rely on stacking many ignites. We on the other hand rely on the raw damage. With explosive arrow you can stack up to 5 fuses (onto a target enemy) that will amplify your damage and then a BIG boom and the burn takes care of the rest. For the highest content you cant get to stack more than 2-3 arrows. You have to keep moving all the time. On the defensive side we do mostly rely on manual kiting to stay alive. But we can kill stuff off screen... The high life pool and life regen helps us with traps etc. Please read up on Elemental equilibrium. It's very important to really understand how it works. Sometimes people do it wrong and you can lose a lot of damage if you mess it up. But if you do it right, well things will die. It is one of the biggest damage boosts we get. But you need to do it right (on bosses). Trash doesn't matter. Oh and the othere extremely important thing is the EA gem level! The gem's damage scales similar to a spell so it has to be as high level as possible. With a gem level 19 you should be able to do T14s but generaly having 20/20 is advised for all content. http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Explosive_Arrow |

Thank you very much for responding to me so quickly... A few more questions for you if you don't mind..
" Interesting, I see. I really enjoy the ignite stacking mechanic of Taming/Emberwake as well as the Explosive arrow stacking of this build. Is there any way to combine the two for maximum damage? " If I'm understanding Elemental Equilibrium correctly, I would have to have a way of applying a different (other than fire) elemental attack first BEFORE the fire damage goes off, correct? Like having added flat cold/lightning damage on gear, correct? " Understood. I'll try to grab a high level gem (with quality). |
|
" No. I mean you can but it's not worth it. if you can get 2 opal rings (with essence crafting) instead that's the best. You would not be able to apply many stacks on the enemy. even the T15 bosses can be burned down like flies if the gear is right. " Yes but EA has 2 parts of damage. First you shoot the EA arrow. It applies EE. Then the explosion. This will reset the EE. And lastly the burn damage. Note that the explosion resets EE, meaning you have to re apply EE again to get the most out of the burn part! " It depends on how far you want to level. My tree is optimal for 115 points. If you squeeze 2 more levels that may be the way to go. But you might also want to get the 4% hybrid life node next to "Juggernaut". That being said, If you are willing to sacrifice life for damage you could very well do that at any time. I noticed you use 2 diamond rings. The rings are nice, however Opal rings are much better for this build. I strongly suggest to have a quicksilver flask of heat or at least to have that mod on a flask that is not a life, mana or hybrid flask. Good luck with links! You may want to get a t least 1 6 link. |

Hello Greengroove,
I am currently doing your build here, only been using it on a few maps so far, BUT. I am doing the 11 jewel one, but MY GOD am i squishy, I would say one or two hits and i'm dead, and i am at 6000 life? Please take a look at my profile, I am not done with my boots / gloves yet, but that shouldn't make a big difference anyways. Thanks! | |
" Well 6k life is not a lot. I had 8k life at the end and some other builds even have more than that. You have some good gear, but there's a lot room for improvements: I didn't use life leech on EA. The leech rate is relatively slow, therefore you can't rely on it. It doesn't bring damage so I'd say drop leech. You should use chance to ignite for sure. You can use my set ups for reference but ofc you can make it different as well. I would not use reduced duration on single target setup. You don't need Essence worm! A rare ring with life (possibly opal) is much better. The gold ring is also pretty bad cause no life. The belt is pretty bad also. The doriani is better or a leather belt. The wed does nothing. Aoe is NOT IMPORTANT since we have prolif! The boots are ok-ish but can be better. Look for armour and or armour evasion hybrid gear in general. Quality up your flasks! The unique flasks you use are not ideal for this build. They don't give you great advantages at all. Especially if we consider the price range. Note that when you use Vinktar you are also shocked yourself and that may be the reason you die so fast. I prefer to use vaal lightning trap to shock enemies. You also need to augment 2 flasks. The unique flasks are better suited for the Pathfinder. If you really want to use unique flasks the Dying sun may be better. Even that is not needed. Ice golem is not very good for this build. Use the fire one and stone golem. The stone golem will also taunt enemies. You can use 2x golems and you should! I would personally prefer to have paragon of calamity. I explain why in the thread. Decoy totem is good! I suggest that you use the +1 quiver on the single target. Having a rare quiver is also generally better in this build. But since you have a +1 Rearguard we can focus on other gear first. Try to level a few more levels if you can get any more notables by playing magic / regal maps if that is needed. Try to drop the 30 dex node and the 0.8 life regen node and go towards the Duelist area. If you can upgrade your gear with more life I think you'll do much better. Remember that in red maps you need 170% to all resists in ele weakness maps! If you have any more questions feel free to ask. ;) GL |
