really looking forward to using this add-on,app, program, or piece of heaven. which ever terms you choose to use to describe it.
1. becuase GGG has said we cant ban you for it. +1 awesomeness right there. 2. trading in this game is so horrid that any thing that streamlines it will be a god send like literally. just waiting on the low resolution mode so i can see the whole screen. I play on 1280 by 768. I've read all the posts in this topic thus far. seems like a lot of people other then the developers themselves are saying its legit. the way i look at it is even if i do get hacked some how. i wont blame this program for it even if some body does some malicious. I'll blame GGG instead for making a multiplayer online game and forgetting the part of OH SNAPS!! people might actually trade stuffs, maybe we should streamline it a bit? so +1 to you guys for taking the lead on some thing GGG should have done before they ever released the game from Closed Beta to Open Beta. free bump for you =) ps. Can you pls change the words on the first post to display what ever the current version is? i only ask cause i plan to add this post to my favorites so i can check back every couple of days to see if new version is out or not. " Thanks for the support, the latest version is in the title of this topic (v0.0.5b). You can also check the downloads page on the official procurement site, there is also an rss feed. I will be releasing v0.0.6 which has lower resolution support and a bunch of new features as soon as I can, unfortunately I just have not been able to work on it in some time. While this long delay was not at all planned, once v0.0.6 has been released I plan on making smaller updates more often, so that important changes can be released quickly. " A browser extension has just as much power as a stand-alone program like this. It doesn't matter how it's implemented. (Example) You should trust programs that are open source and that other programmers and developers have reviewed. If you are really careful you can run the program in a sandbox and restrict requests to pathofexile IP addresses. But, just remember it's as easy to make a browser extension which hacks your account as an executable. Don't implicitly trust either! I trust Procurement because I've had a look at the source code and understand roughly how it works. I'm much more likely to trust it than a chrome extension which I have no idea how it works. Brutus. I fail to see how a chrome extension which I load AFTER having logged in can steal my details.
All they should have access to are hashed passwords. Not worried about that tbh. I'm sure they can hook from fields to steal data, but how would this affect me if I'm already logged in pre-load? " I don't know how chrome extensions work. If I did I would look at the code to make sure it wasn't my account info. However, I know that extensions are scarily powerful. From a quick google search I found several examples of how to steal passwords with a chrome extension. Here's a good run down of why not to install random extension. The example used is a chrome extension. The problem is not specific to chrome but all browser extensions and extensions in general. My reason for not trusting the chrome extension is because I do not know how chrome extensions work. If they work inside a sandbox which is totally removed from password storage, form input, disk access, etc. then I'm more likely to trust them. There's still the possibility of breaking out of the sandbox, as we have seen with java applets for example, but it's much safer.
