Stop keys to inactive members.
I also agree that 72 hours is more than enough time to check your personal email.

If its this hard to get a key i agree with the above!
Those who put time into facebook/twitter and forums should get a better chance than dave who signed up last year and never came back |

Unfortunately, this isn't the only game to give beta keys to inactive accounts. Sure there are many that don't but there are a select few that have.

People who are serious about playing this game will log on and those who don't are probably casual about it and wont play it for more than 10 hours and mostly likely wont post feedback.

I promise to be an active forum poster once I get my beta key :D

I'd have to disagree with the majority of the posts in this thread.
I've obviously just made an account just now so I may be a little biased but other than discussing the updates irregularly and speculating on how the game may turn out, without actually having a game to play it's pretty hard to have a meaningful discussion that isn't just a regurgitation of what others have already said or suggestions that the developers will not listen to (because admittedly they know what they're doing and have a game plan and the only critique that has real value is bug reports, tweaks to current configurations and user operability suggestions from beta participants). Honestly I'd have to disagree with the notion that people who put in time in the forums will also be inclined to put in time in the beta more so than someone who does not put in time in the forums. Obviously someone who has waited a spell and put in some dedication to the forums of the game will have an investment that will contribute to the likelihood that they won't just drop the game after playing it, but one should never underestimate a human's ability to give up on something when uninterested, truth is those who are liable to put in a large amount of time and contribute, are those who find themselves enjoying the game, not those who think the game is going to be great and regular the forums waiting for a beta key. It's for that reason that I think that while someone who has waited longer should be more entitled to a key than someone who has not, that those people who have not waited for a key should not be excluded from the picking. Quite honestly I think this system, while a savvy publicity move, is vastly inferior to the standard system of applying with your expertise and experience. | |
I would suggest that beta players that are inactive are kicked out and their keys given to new player. I am sure the system log when players log on and they can easily kick out all that have not logged in for 1-2 weeks.
As I understand most streamers stopped streaming the game so I would guess they stopped playing (some probably didn't). Also the beta does not have a lot of content yet and I am sure many that finish the current content just quit afterwards. Those should be kicked until open beta begins. Any new player will give more data for developers then those that maybe play once per week. Last edited by Torin#1843 on Aug 20, 2011, 10:55:51 AM

" Sry, but why let ppl a beta acc. when they not on for 4 days or so? its a test.. so its ur job to test and give feedback, as much as u can. if u cannot, then ur not worthy helping and u should wait until the game is released. There are many ppl with technical background, time and a great knowledge of games, let them test the game... |
