I think Chris posted confirming it. A free optional respec happens each expansion. (Or forced respec if any passive tree changes affect your pathing.)

Yes, he confirmed that there will always be free respecs with major updates. Not with ascendency points though. If you want to change those, you have to use regrets. Like the bandit rewards.

Yeah, ascendancy points get respecced. Ascendancy class does not.

It's definitely correct. Chris says you get an optional respec. Optional Respecs are full passive tree respecs. Full passive tree Respecs include ascendancy points. Most standard players will know this from experience, or have a free respec sitting around they can use to test it for themselves.
