What exactly is the point of shaper's orbs?

People always said "let me run any map at any level." Well this is sorta that. For the most part, it's that simple. I think divination cards and sextants play into a bit, but we have more diverse tile-sets to run at the endgame.

I guess. The game should be redesigned (I don't know, less time in white maps and more on yellow) for that to make sense.

If only they distributed maps in a bell curve with fewer T1/T2s and T15/T16s and more T7/T8/T9/T10s...

I think the tier changes go towards that (or so reddit speculates). But what I saw means that they need to go in that direction further in the future.

It's weird that there will be more ways to make yellow maps red rather than make white maps yellow.

We'll see.

People asked for ways to be able to continue playing maps that they enjoyed but may have no longer get great exp from them or they no longer drop high item level items. You can take some early map tiers that have nice layouts and potential loot, and bring it into the yellow tiers. So you don't feel like your getting nothing anymore. Some with the yellow tiers.
The real question is, if I upgrade a T6 to a T10, will T10 maps drop more often for me or will there just be an increased variety of T10 maps? Knowing GGG I assume it's the latter...
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.
I have a (stupid) question.

Let's say I grind myself through the Atlas (sounds like I'm talking about No Man's Sky), and I reach, let's say T11. I complete 3 T11 maps, making them possible to drop. I Shape two of them, making Springs the only one possible to drop at this stage.

Will the Springs map drop as often as all three would've done (combined)? Hope you understand my scenario and my half-broken English. I'm tired.

Yes, it's the latter.

"When a map drops, its tier is entirely unchanged by the choice of which maps you have unlocked so far. Unlocking more maps doesn't change how many of a specific tier you receive (but increases the number of different maps that you see at that tier). Yes, the springs will drop as often as all 3 combined, except that you can't shape tier 11 maps. The highest tier map you can shape is tier 10.

There aren't that many low tier maps anymore. Everything got re-assigned.

Sure, but there is no need to have more than one map per tier if we talk about white maps on the long run (that would be if you obliterate all your map pool at some point). More shaper's orbs at low level if possible would be nice.

Some people like to switch it up sometimes. You know, for the sake of not going completely braindead.

I feel discriminated. You corrected MY mistake, as you are right, shaping a T11 is impossible, as there are no T16 maps. But you did NOT correct Xavderions mistake. You cannot shape a T6 into a T10, can you? Racism, seriously.

But on a serious not: Thanks for clearing that up.
