Corrupting a Tabula Rasa

Hi, I just would like to know is using a vaal orb on a tabula rasa will change anything on it except I heard it allows your gems getting +1 lvl when on it?

Is it right? I mean, the sockets will stay white right? :p

Anything to be afraid of when using a vaal orb on a tabula rasa? Just the +1 on gems will happen?

That wording shows up on weapons, and applies only to that weapon. Consequently, only to attacks (and then only hits made with that weapon).
Have you done something awesome with Sire of Shards? PM me and tell me all about it!
Oh ok thanks :)
Can someone also explain to me the difference between Haste gem and Vaal haste...

Because I checked this link : http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Vaal_Haste but I still don't understand why there's no mana reserved anymore?

What are those souls per use?

Vaal Haste is temporary, thus the duration and lack of mana reserved. The soul requirement is something common to all Vaal gems. In order to use the skill, you have to kill a certain number of enemies - their souls charge up the gem. So for Vaal Haste, you can activate it after you kill 24 enemies in normal/36 in cruel/48 in merc. After that activation you have to kill that many enemies again to charge it once more.

Thanks I got it now !

I also have another question...

Could you explain me in which order using these two gems :

http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Contagion

http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Essence_Drain

I mean, first you curse an area with contagion and then hit an ennemy with essence drain right? Then he will die in the cursed area so the damage can spread to other ennemies.

Is that right?
Is it the better way to use this? Or perhaps it's more efficient to throw essence drain to an ennemy and just before the projectile hit the target we use contagion on the area?

I'm trying a new build with essence drain and I have troubles understanding the cycle I should use...
Either way works just fine.
Essence Drain -> Contagion is a little bit faster, if Contagion lands before the first enemy dies. However, at close range it's pretty easy for Essence Drain to kill the target before Contagion lands.

Contagion -> Essence Drain is a little safer, because you'll never be too slow with casting Contagion.

Thanks for those explanations :)

I'm currently at lvl 38 so my projectile speed is not that fast, so I have the timing to land contagion just after essence drain before the first ennemy dies...

However at high lvl I doubt this will still work. I think I'll have to use contagion before essence drain.

Well, thank you for your answer :)
Important for MF: Order decides which gem the rarity support needs to go on. ^^
Zaanus:
Global chat: Mechanics for A work one way, B for another, C for a third but also with A, B uses C but not A, and D uses A&B but not C

Isn't a "no" better than an ignore?

Oh ok thanks :) as I'm playing in HC I don't use item rarity since the survivability is my priority but thanks for the tip :)
