[2.2] 100% chaos ICE TRAPPER - UBER down (T15 Abyss Double Boss fight in 10 sec!!)

I did some testing tonight to try and work out some of the mechanics of Ice Trap and Cluster Traps.

Here's what I found:

Ice Trap appears to have a base radius of effect somewhere in the range of 15 to 17, based on the explosion graphic as measured inside an Elreon hideout using the square floor tiles to help measure. My guess is that the base radius is 16, slightly larger than Fire Trap which has a base radius of 15.

Cluster Traps (when used without Multiple Traps) causes 4 traps to be thrown at once. The traps are randomly dispersed in a circular pattern centered on the cursor; the radius of this circle appears to be roughly 16, again using an Elreon hideout to help measure. The dispersal radius of Cluster Traps does not seem to be affected by modifiers to AOE. Rather it's a fixed value.

What this means is that when you throw a cluster of Ice Traps at a single target, all 4 traps will end up within range of the target. When the cluster explodes, all 4 Ice Traps will hit a mob at the center of the cluster so long as you haven't decreased the base radius (you won't do this using this build, but you could achieve this, for example, by using Conc Effect, a zero quality Ice Trap and take no increased AOE nodes).

Note: I'm assuming that traps within a cluster retain their AOE radius; in other words, I'm assuming that a trap within a cluster won't somehow have a smaller explosion radius than that same trap when thrown as a single trap. This assumption seems reasonable and is very likely the way that Cluster Traps is implemented but it would be extremely difficult to test.

Based on the above, for single target DPS, a +1 Tabula Rasa will yield higher damage than a non +1 Carcass Jack because all 4 Ice Traps will hit the single target for both chest pieces. However, the increased AOE offered by Carcass Jack will help with clear speed since you'll hit more mobs given the larger Ice Trap explosions.

Also got some GG jewels: 7% increased life + trap damage + area damage :)
Top dps with flask and charges around 40k

HC? How's your survivability?

Did Uber like 3 times on Softcore: died only twice: once on trash, once on 2nd boss bleed.

i highly recommend using increased area of effect when mapping.

this is so much superior to any other 6th gem i've used so far. give it a try!

if you are killing uber switch to concentrated effect or whatever you prefer

On page 1, 6L is shown as

-ice trap
-cluster traps
-elemental focus
-trap and mine dmg
-controlled destruction
-void manipulation

I don't see he is using Concentrated effect.

You can also think about smoke mine with minefield. For each mine you get with Saboteur "Bomb Specialist" 4 % increasead AOE per Mine and i can put 10 on the ground. Of course you will loose two sockets, but i played that way since pohx icetrapper build and i still like it.
Spoiler
pls cut the shitty Sirusboss out of the game
