How about starting at level 100 with all points available? Every death you lose 0,5 (or whole) level. Every level drop you lose a passive point (unallocated, or if all allocated, one allocated last) and every 5 level drops you lose ascendancy point

I agree with you that complaining about all the dislike / hate / derision that keeps being directed at lab is quite the dead horse by now.

PS: Lab still isn't a fun part of the game for a lot of players and lore for lab doesn't make sense. This thread does a great job of pointing out a variety of options for making the game better.

But it's not dead. It's still a very big issue in the game for a lot of people.

Most trap mechanics are so broken that people make builds just to bypass them. How crazy is that? For something most players won't go back and do again until the next league starts.

I think most people would be okay with the lab if you could walk in, fight Izzy, get your points and leave. Then, let those who want to run the remainder of the Lab for keys and enchants or maybe some powerful bonus to go for it.

It would probably be an embarrassment to GGG to see just exactly how many people would not finish the run for keys and enchants, which is why it will never happen.

That said, let the trolls attack.
