I've have the same issue "unable to log in" with the news feed not available either. I've already been emailing back and forth with GGG support and after trying out their suggestions (disable antivirus/firewall/reboot modem/Try a VPN) I'm still unable to connect and was told to call ISP by GGG which I did. My ISP is comcast and there is another thread here in forums with the same issue and OP also has comcast https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1598801 Question to those who have posted in this thread , do you guys also have comcast? I called ISP but they said they don't see anything on their end, was given the same tech support script they tell you every time you call them reboot modem/pc ect ect.
It seems I am not the only one having this issue so I know it's not my pc/net as I can connect and play other games just fine, I've made no software/hardware changes either. Installed poe on my old laptop, it works. But dont like to play on the old laptop.
Is anything on my pc missing? Anything changed with the patch? I was able to play befor the patch without problems. |

i have had this issue off and on for a long time. i believe it is because they use 80/443 to connect to their login server or that 1299 or 1119 port.
what i have found very frequently is that sometimes i will have a web page open in a browser, and i will get this issue. the moment i close that browser window, it will work for a short time. the problem is this does not always resolve the problem. sometimes i try closing and re-opening POE through both steam and standalone trying to get it where i will see the update news, but i usually give up after a few tries. sometimes rebooting the cable modem will fix it, sometimes rebooting my router will fix it, sometimes nothing will. i think whats happening is that the POE client sees a connection open on port 80 or 443, and then tries to use that session even if it belongs to another process/program. of course that could be wildly wrong, but i do know there is definitely something wrong with their net-code and how it works. i run quite a few programs and several of them are Internet based. about the only thing i haven't tried is running a wireshark or something to actually get right down to it to find out what the problem is. unfortunately their "log file" is woefully inadequate to assist with any kind of troubleshooting as it doesn't actually say what/where it is failing.

Hello there!
Im living in Austria so i dont use Comcast. " I actually tried this just now and it seems to work for me aswell. However my game cant detect the sounddrivers when i do that... which seems weird to me. I also tried to run a Browser after being able to log in and it claimed i had no internet connection. Originally posted my problem in a different threat but i think its better if we just continue this one. I got the same problem too. Awakening worked for me. It's just Ascendancy seems broken. I uninstalled and it opens fine. It's just can't login and see the news feed. I download the patch before the servers were updated.
